It's impossible to describe the panic that comes over you when you're a surgeon and your pager goes off in the middle of the night.

Derek and Meredith were intwined together, fast asleep in their bed, when Derek's pager went off. Meredith blindly reached out to grab the offensive pager, and handed it over to her husband. Derek blinked a few times, glaring at the screen, a 9-1-1.
Derek sighed before he kissed Meredith on the shoulder and got up.

At Eddie and Mark's home, the couple were fast asleep as well. Mark was lying on his back, with Eddie draped across him. Eddie was using Mark's chest as a pillow. Both were sleeping peacefully when one of the pagers, Eddie's, went off.
Eddie groaned as she rolled off Mark and reached for the annoying pager. She looked at the screen to see the 9-1-1 from the hospital.
"Sweetheart?" Mark asked.
"It's my pager. 9-1-1. I've got to go." Eddie said as she started to get out of bed, as Mark groaned.
"I'll see you at the hospital later." Eddie said as she gave him a quick kiss. "Go back to sleep."
"Yeah." Mark said sleepily. "I love you."
"Love you too." Eddie said as she got out of bed and quickly started to get dressed.

Alec and Rory were fast asleep, when Alec's pager went off. He groaned as he looked at his pager and groaned at the 9-1-1.
"Who's pager?" Rory asked sleepily.
"Mine." Alec said, his wife had the day off, but being woken up from deep sleep mad her forget. "Go back to sleep beautiful."
"Okay." Rory said sleepily, already falling back to sleep. Alec smiled and wrote a note and left it on her bedside table, knowing she might not remember with how sleepy she was. He slipped out of bed and made quickly got dressed, and quietly left the house.
