This is the start of me taking a bit more liberty with the plot since I have changed a lot! So some things will be different!!!
Quick Question: Do you feel like Derek was justified in doing what he did going to the board about Richard drinking? I can see both sides: having a chief of surgery drunk at work is a big, big, big liability and it was now starting to affect his job when things at the hospital like the sterile supplies were not stocked and things like that, BUT Richard wasn't operating, he was not around patients drunk as far as I was aware.
But, at the same time, I feel like Derek had major ulterior motives, especially when he basically tempted Richard to drink, or the fact he basically promised Meredith that when he was chief he'd hire Izzie back so he didn't have to break his promise and he got the green light to get what he wanted, or the fact that he always wanted to be chief and this was his moment. I feel like his ego was stroked when he was offered the chief position, even if he told Webber about it and tried to stop it, I think his ego was stroked and it brought out the desire again that he wanted this. I feel like he wanted to help Richard, but at the same time he went about it the wrong way. Especially when he poured a drink in front of him basically egging him on. There are other ways to get help instead of doing that!
How do you think Mark will handle it? Do you think he'll agree or disagree with how Derek went about it or will there be issues?
