Chapter Song Rec: That Could Be Me by Alessi Rose (idk how to explain it but this song is so Y/N coded)

RING RING RING
You eyes snapped open, fist immediately flying towards the alarm clock on your bedside dresser. You slammed it down, harder than you'd meant to, and the clock let out a weak ringing noise before it went quiet. You opened one eye.
You'd broken it.
Fantastic.
"Fuck." You cursed under your breath as you forced yourself out of bed. It was the first day back at school since it had been shut down after the fight between Doc Ock and Vulture had destroyed the cafeteria.
It would also be the first day you'd get to see Miles again out of the suit.
Was it going to be awkward, seeing each other at school knowing what had happened over the past few days? The two of you had made up...but you weren't sure how he was going to act in person now. Was he going to keep acting like your friend, or was he going to treat you the way he did when he had the mask on?
Like you were something special?
You pulled your hair out of the braid you'd kept it in/pulled your silk bonnet off your head as you made your way towards the bathroom. Your messy hair fell over your face and you brushed it back.
You looked exhausted. There were circles under your eyes, courtesy of the minimal sleep you'd been able to get yourself over the past week. Oh well- nothing a bit of concealer wouldn't fix.
You opened one of the bathroom drawers, searching for your floss. Your eyes landed on your makeup bag. You didn't wear makeup to school often (unless it was for sleepless eyes), at least, not anymore. You'd gotten too busy and too tired to spend time on yourself before school, and you couldn't remember the last time you'd opened that bag. Had it been weeks? Months?
Miles' face flashed in your mind. His lips against yours, his smile as he looked at you afterwards.
You could feel your cheeks heating up.
Maybe you should put on some mascara or something...just for today.
So you went through the motions. You brushed your teeth, did your hair as prettily as you could and before you could start attempting to apply your makeup, you head over to your closet to pick out your outfit for the day.
As you sifted through your clothes, you heard a soft growl. You pushed the stack of pajamas to the side to see the symbiote, still in its jar, moving around in the glass. "Good morning to you too." You said quietly, raising a brow at it.
It didn't respond. You didn't expect it to. You weren't even sure if it could understand what you were saying.
"You'll be good while I'm at school, right?" You asked it halfheartedly, grabbing your favorite pair of baggy jeans and a plain tank top. Miles always wore those muscle tank tops, didn't he? You tried to push him out of your mind as you shut the closet door closed and left to go change in the bathroom.
You were already running late by the time you'd finished your makeup (especially since you'd spent at least five good minutes admiring yourself in the mirror afterwards) and you stumbled towards the living room as fast as you could.
Your parents had already left for work and the apartment was completely empty. They weren't home often these days. They hated the silence nearly as much as you did. You found your jacket lying on the couch and wrapped it over your shoulders, quickly fixing your hair.
