If I could be anything
I would want to be everything
I could be a bright flower
And slowly pass away the hours
To be a beautiful tree
Or maybe the wind—so free
I could be the notes of a little song bird
And touch the soft ears of the people of the world
To be the hairs on a little girls head
Or the soft warm blanket as she lays in her bed
I could be a ring on a woman's left hand
And at the beach, I'd be each grain of sand
I could be the sun's bright rays
Shinning down for all of the days
But instead I am just me
But if I wasn't, what would I be?
