"You're not even listening to me, are you?" Jackson complained, his voice coming through on the phone - it was on speaker and lying face up on her desk. Lily rolled her eyes as she scrolled through the mythology page she had open on her laptop. The fibre analysis had come back and it had proven that the animal hair was a wolf - meaning a wolf had bitten Scott - meaning that he was probably a werewolf. Sure she was cutting corners with this answer but Stiles had agreed - especially after lacrosse trials where Scott had been flipping all over the place and the seeming disappearance of his asthma so they'd split the research resources between them and set out to learn as much as possible about werewolves.  They'd been reading through books and WebPages from the moment they'd gotten home.

"Yeah, I zoned out like ten minutes ago. But what I can tell you Jackson, is that Scott is not taking steroids," Lily sighed. The real reason behind his sudden abilities - that she had to keep a secret, she wanted to tell him but it wasn't her secret to tell. Especially not to a guy that her brother and Scott both mutually hated.

"Then how do you explain his sudden lacrosse skills?" Jackson asked, "And how he played dumb when I asked him?"

"He practised a lot over the holiday," Lily lied, and then stopped, his words bothering her, "And when you say 'asked', please tell me you mean that you both sat down and had a lovely chat over a cup of tea about drugs and game enhancers?"

There was a pause before Jackson replied, "As opposed to what?"

"You throwing him against the locker and shouting in his face like the big, dumb jock you are." She took his silence as an answer. "God Jackson, Scott's like a puppy - you probably scared him to death."

"Yeah well it was a complete waste of my energy, he pretended like he didn't know what I was talking about."

"That's because he doesn't," Lily sighed, "I promise you that he's not taking steroids."

"Just like you promised me you wouldn't watch the final episodes of Heroes without me?"

Lily laughed, printing off a page and adding it to her stack as she replied, "I thought you'd moved on from that. It's literally almost been a year."

"I know, the anniversary of your betrayal is coming up," Jackson said dramatically, "How are you going to repay me?"

"We could marathon the first season again - that's the best one," Lily suggested.

"Nah, I'll pass. Heroes was always more your thing than mine."

"And yet you still complain that I betrayed you."

Chuckling, Jackson said, "What about American Horror Story when it premiers?"

"Okay now you're just being petty - you know I hate scary stuff," Lily complained.

"You also hate it when I say the word moist but that's never stopped me before."

"Ugh, add yourself to the list of things I hate."

He laughed, "But then what'll fill the top spot of your list of things you love?"

Lily opened her mouth to reply but was distracted as she heard Scott come into her house. Stiles had invited him over so that Lily and he could tell him their theory. It had taken a lot of convincing as Scott was desperate to get ready for his date with Allison - even asking Lily for outfit ideas before they'd left school.

"Lily? I swear to god if you hung up on me before you could hear my super witty joke-"

Jumping up from her seat and closing her laptop, Lily picked up her phone, laughing, "I'm still here, loser. And as absolutely hilarious your joke was, I have to go."
