"I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you," Lily chanted as Jackson speeded down the road. Why did he feel the need to drive like a maniac? It was like he was trying to kill them. She hadn't expected to spend her time after school in Jackson's Porsche with him drag racing - in fact, she always turned him down when he offered to take her but Stiles and Scott had insisted she go and keep an eye on him. All day, she'd been stuck to Jackson like glue; she didn't mind as she enjoyed his company and he helped keep her mind off Derek - who had recently turned to the dark side but she just felt guilty that Jackson didn't know the real reason she was being so clingy.

Jackson only rolled his eyes in response, changing the topic and saying, "So, formal soon. Have you decided who you're going with?"

"I'm not going," Lily replied, glancing out the window.

"Why? If you need a date, I'm sure I could find someone on the team-"

"-I'm not going to the formal with Greenburg, Jackson," Lily gritted her teeth, glaring at him.

Jackson shrugged, "Whatever, that's fine. Wait - what about that guy you asked me about a few weeks ago? The one who kept driving you home?"

Lily paused, swallowing. Her hands were already tightly clutched to the sides of the car seat but she found herself clutching them tighter. After they'd left Derek that night, he and Peter had talked and he'd joined sides with him. They'd even gone to Scott, trying to convince him to also join them. To say she was disappointed in Derek would be a large understatement - she was distraught to find out that he was okay with killing people. "He's - he's not the school dance kind of guy," she sighed.

He raised an eyebrow at her, "How's it going with you and him anyways? I've been meaning to ask-"

"-it's not," she cut him off, not wanting to talk about it anymore, "It's not going. Speaking of the formal though, I heard a little rumour that you're going with Allison."

Jackson's eyes widened, his face resembling that of a little kid who'd been caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Laughing nervously, he cleared his throat, "Where did you hear that absurd rumour?"

"Jackson," Lily scowled.

"Okay yeah I am but please don't grab my ear - I'm driving and we'll die," he told her.

Lily raised an eyebrow, "I'm okay with that."

He scoffed, "You are actually so crazy sometimes."

"Look," Lily said, sitting up in her seat and sending him a serious look, "There's this ship that I helped build and I put some of my time and effort into. It hasn't always been smooth sailing but usually things have gotten right back onto track and I'll be damned if I let you be the iceberg that sinks it."

Jackson sent her a look as though he had no idea what she was talking about when all of a sudden the car slowed to a stop. They were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by random warehouses and the car seemingly stalled. Looking over the meters, Jackson groaned, hitting the steering wheel and getting out. Lily sighed, about to follow him out when she noticed a car pull up and Chris Argent step out. Eyes wide, she texted Stiles and Scott - who were nearby as they were following them - before also exiting the car herself, doing her best to stay calm.

"Car trouble?" he called, smiling at them. Lily was trying to send Jackson warning looks but he was too busy eyeing up Allison's dad, sizing him up. The man pulled out some black gloves, approaching them with the obvious intention of helping. Lily could sense something more calculating behind his eyes though, speaking up before Jackson could.
