8 ∞ the life and times of Alfred the Butler

Lily wasn't sure how she got stuck on hospital duty while Scott and Stiles went to the school. They were going to recall Scott's memories while Lily had to check up on the bus driver. Scott had told them that the driver had freaked after seeing him so that's why he couldn't go and Stiles was like Scott's little sheep, so of course he wasn't going anywhere. Anyone listening into her thoughts would have thought she was bitter - they would be right. She felt like Scott and Stiles were Batman and Robin while she was Alfred the Butler.

Stiles had promised to pick her up from there after dropping Scott off at his house so she wasn't in a hurry to get to the driver. She didn't want anyone questioning her though - especially not Melissa - so she snuck to the room, surprised to look through the door and see Derek standing over the man. He was asking the driver how he knew him - which made her wonder whether he could have been there that night with Scott. Stiles had texted her to tell her of Scott's memories and it seemed as though Derek had attacked the guy but here he was, seeming surprised that the man knew him.

Suddenly the life support machine started bleeping and Lily gasped, the noise causing Derek's eyes to flicker up to hers. They stared at each other for a long moment before Lily realised she had to get out of there. The bus driver was dying and doctors were rushing to him so she was able to easily make her escape, her heart thumping in her chest as she stepped outside of the hospital. Her brother was nowhere to be seen and she was going to call him when she felt a hand grab her wrist, jerking her until she was pressed against the wall.

Looking up, her eyes met green ones. Derek Hale was currently boxing Lily against a wall and though she was terrified, some other less appropriate thoughts came to mind. She did her best to not let it distract her, keeping her eyes locked on his as opposed to his lips. "You saw me, didn't you?" Derek asked, getting all up into her personal space. She couldn't breathe - let alone talk, so she simply nodded, eyes still on his. "And?" he prompted her, "What do you think you saw?"

Lily's eyebrows furrowed as she replied, "You were talking to him and then he died." Scanning his face, she saw that he was probably looking for more, so she continued, "Whether or not those two were related, I still have yet to figure out."

Derek frowned, "Do you think I killed him?"

"Scott went back to the bus," Lily told him, "He... he says he remembers you being there... he thinks you did it."

Derek scoffed, pulling back slightly and rolling his eyes, "Just like he thinks I killed my sister?"

"Did you?" Lily asked quietly, scared of the answer. His werewolf hearing picked it up though as he paused. His face was unreadable, as he looked back at her. Had she offended him? It was times like these that she wished she could read minds.

"Did I what?"

"Did you kill her? Did you bite Scott? Did you attack the bus driver?" Lily blurted all the questions at once, frustrated that she still somehow thought he was innocent when she barely knew him and all the evidence was pointing at him being guilty.

"Would you even believe me if I told that I didn't?" he countered. She paused, looking away as she had no real answer. She didn't know what to believe. She trusted Scott more than she trusted Derek but Scott's reliability as of late was really going down the drain. What if he was remembering everything incorrectly? What if he thought Derek had done it simply because that was the easiest explanation for everything? Lily didn't end up having to reply as Derek frowned, stepping away and looking around, "Do you not own a car?" She had no idea why he was changing the subject but she didn't question it - not wanting to return to their past conversation.
