Tiny giggles surrounded Bucky's hut. His groggy eyes squinted at the sun shining into the small opening as he sat up.

"Shiya indoda yodwa!" (Leave the man alone!) A woman shouted at the children as she approached the closed-off hut and pushed them away.

Bucky heard the children giggle and run away as the woman laughed and called them silly. He smiled to himself and stood up, pulling on his shirt and his shuka, then exiting the hut.

"Good morning! I apologize for the children bothering you." The woman handed him a cup of freshly made coffee and bowed her head to greet him.

He copied the movement and smiled.

"They were fine. It's been a long time since I've heard such happiness. I'm just surprised they like me."

"Of course, they like you. Everyone here likes you." Y/N's eyes looked up at him with admiration.

The look made Bucky's face blush and his heart rush. Y/N came closer and reached out, placing her hand on his chest.

"How did you sleep, my love."

Bucky grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips, placing a kiss to her palm.

"Every night I sleep next to you, I sleep good."

They stared into each other's eyes, their bodies slowly coming closer like magnets. Their lips inches away.

A chirping sound coming from her Kimoyo beads on her wrist made them both snap out of their trance. Pulling away, she tapped on her beads, and a hologram appeared.

"Good morning, sister. Is he awake?" T'Challa spoke on the other end.

Y/N nodded and turned her beads towards Bucky.

"Ah, Mr. Barnes. It is good to see you're doing good. I heard your last session with Ayo went well. I am happy for you. You are finally free."

"Thank you, T'Challa. I owe it all to you, your sisters, and Ayo. I couldn't have done it without you all."

T'Challa nodded in appreciation.

"I'm sure my sister Y/N helped more than us."

Bucky but his whole bottom lip and let out a breathy laugh.

"We must celebrate. Come to the palace tonight, we will have a room set up for you."

Y/N smiled softly at the soldier as he spoke to T'Challa. Her heart swelled with happiness and pride for the man in front of her.

Ever since Bucky woke from cryosleep, Y/N grew a fondness for him. Being his guide around Wakanda, helping him settle into the small village near the farms, being the person to listen when he spoke of the horrors he went through, and helping him during nightmares.

The warm light of the fire illuminated Bucky's exhausted face. Y/N sat on the dirt beside him, humming a song from her childhood.

"What does it mean?" His deep voice cut through the air.

"What?" She tilted her head.

"The song you sing. I hear you hum it and sing it to the children in the village sometimes. I don't understand the language."

Y/N chuckled.

"It's in Xosha. The song says that light will always come back. Hope and peace are all around us; we just have to open our souls and let it in."

He nods, his eyes still locked onto the fire.

"Can you sing it?" His voice was a whisper. So soft and vulnerable.
