Chapter 64 - An important ally

"Yeah, we want to share our happiness with you!"

They talked animatedly for a long time. At 12pm, lunch was served and they enjoyed each other's company during their time together.

"Becky..."
"Mhm?"
"You know you need to tell your mom, right?"
"Yes..."
"I've already told her we need to do that. And said we're gonna do that together." Freen said caressing her girlfriend's hand.

Richie realized his daughter's struggling.

"BecBec, don't worry..."
"All I wanted was for her not to ruin my, or rather, our happiness! But we know this is impossible. As soon as mrs Rawee finds out, the drama will begin and she will start to oppose it..."
"Becky, don't worry." Richie said confident.
"Dad, to be honest, I don't care about my mom's opinion. I don't need or am asking for permision. I've already made up my mind. I'm pretty sure about my feelings for Freen and hers for me. I'm just letting her know. But it's really annoying to have someone who, instead of being happy for us, keeps interfering and thinking they still have some power to decide my life for me..."
"I know princess. But I'll be with you, girls. Everything is gonna be ok."
"Mom must understand that I grew up! I'm an adult woman now, responsable and independent. Why can't she be like mom Num? Yesterday we told her and she got really happy for us. Is that difficult?" The younger girl asked squinting her eyes.
"Becky, I totally agree. Don't worry my daughter, she won't mess up, I won't let her."
"See BB? Things will be easier, dad has our back, teerak. " Freen said greedily.
"You can bet on it, Freen! All I ask of you girls, is to keep the flame of your contagious happiness burning brightly. We won't let anything or anyone spoil this beautiful moment!"
"Exactly!" Freen agreed with a fleeting smile.
"Ok..." The caucasian girl finally said with misty eyes.
"Good! Who else have you told?" Richie changed the subject.
"Only you and mom Num." The thai girl replied softly.
"Oh, ok. When will you tell Richie? He's gonna be on cloud nine!"
"Later. He's at work now..."
"Great. Then we can meet tomorrow.  Everyone, and tell your mother. What do you say?"
"Ok..." The thai/british girl agreed blankly.
"Come on BecBec,  this is an amazing moment! Don't let your mom ruin it!" The older Armstrong said grinning.
"Dad is right BB! We love each other, we are one step ahead and we're happier than ever! That's all that matters!"

Rebecca smiled in love agreeing.

💭 I swear for God Rawee, if you try to put on your show, I'll divorce right t!hen and there! And I'll ask for a divorce in front of everyone! It's past time for you to understand that Becky is an adult woman and you can no longer decide her life! I won't let you ruin my daughter's happiness!

After a wonderful time celebrating with champagne, Richie finally said goodbye.

"Call me when you tell your brother, ok?"
"Ok dad. Thank younso much!"
"Don't thank me, princess! I'm the one who must be grateful.  You found love in a wonderful woman. What else a father must wish for his children?"

Freen and Becky smiled and hugged the british man. Richie left the couple's hotel immersed in his thoughts.

💭 I'm going to have a serious conversation with Rawee . This must stop! This is the time of Rebecca's life, she shouldn't be suffering like this! Rawee must understand the harm she's causing our daughter.

When the older Armstrong arrived home, he went to talk to his wife.

"Hello teerak, wanna have lunch?" Mrs Armstrong asked.
"No thanks. I've already had lunch..."
"You did?"
"Yes. I had lunch with Becky and Freen."

The woman got surprised.

"Really? Why didn't you call me? I would have met you, so that we would've been able to eat all together..."
"Because Becky asked me to go alone." The man said wary.
"She did what?"
"Exactly what you heard. She asked me to go alone."
"Why?"
"Do you really wanna know?"
"Of course!"
"Our daughter had an announcement. And thanks to your childish and ridiculous behavior, she didn't want you around, so as not to spoil her happiness.  (Her words)." The man said it mercilessly.

The woman felt the reality of her actions hit her hard. "And what did she say?" Rawee asked defeated.

"This is not up to me to tell you. It was really difficult, but Freen and I convinced her to tell you..."
"My daughter doesn't want me to be part of her happiness?"
"Once again, you didn't understand..."
"What do you mean?"
"It's not that she doesn't want you to be part of her happiness, teerak. She just doesn't want you to turn a moment of pure happiness and joy into pain and suffering with your idiotic notion that you can still control her life. Because you can't anymore! That's why she doesn't want to tell you."

The thai woman just lowered her head...

"You're losing your daughter,  Rawee. Can you see and understand that?"
"My God... what did I do?" The woman said with dull eyes.
"Don't you think it's time to change?" Richie asked scouring his wife's arms.
"You're right... she's my only daughter... tell me my love, what is it? I promise I will behave."

The business man struggled. He wasn't sure if if he should tell his wife or not.

"Please Richie..." Rawee begged with misty eyes.
"Are you really, trully  willing to change yourself?"
"Yes! I don't want to lose my little girl..."
"Ok. I will tell you then, but when Becky tells you..."
"If she tells me..." The woman corrected her husband with a trifling sigh.

The older Armstrong felt sorry for his wife, but even though he said:

"When our daughter tells you, you must pretend surprise. Can you do that?"
"Sure." Rawee said dismayed.
"Do I have your word?"
"Yes! You can trust me."
"Rawee, before I tell you, I need you to understand that your attitudes had led to this situation."
"I know. I can't blaim Rebecca, I know I'm the only responsable for this."
"Ok. Here we go... Freen asked Becky to move in with her, and our daughter agreed."

Rawee got speechless for a while and Richie thought his wife was going to cause problems again...

"Rawee, listen to me..."
"My daughter is going to get married?" The woman asked whimpering. "And she wanted me to get out of this moment of her life?"

While richie worried about his wife's reaction, he also felt sorry for Rawee. Becky was her only daughter and they used to be very close, but his wife's recent behavior towards their daughter completely justified Rebecca's actions. That was undeniable.

"I need to talk to Rebecca!"
"No Rawee, you won't cause any more trouble. I won't allow you!" The older Armstrong said authoritatievely.
"Teerak, I just wanna talk..."
"Rawee, no. Becky is with Richie now, telling him the news. She's very happy! Happier than I've ever seen her in my life. I won't let you ruin her and Freen's happiness! You won't go! I forbid you!" The english man said sharply.

Rawee got shocked. Her husband had never talked to her like that.

"Richie, teerak,  you..."
"No Rawee, I don't wannahear anything more! You've already crossed the line once, I won't allow it to happen again! You won't go, and that's final!" Mr Armstrong said foreshadowing problems.
"Richie, please, listen to me. This os all I ask of you. If after I've explained my point of view, I mean, what is going through my head you still think I should not go, I'll respect that, I promise! But please, listen to me, honey!" The woman asked wary.

Faced with the pain his wife expressed and the truth in her eyes, Richie decided to listen to her.

"Ok... tell me your truth..."
"Teerak, I know that the blame for all this happening (everyone knowing about it, except me, because Becky doesn't want anyone ruining her happiness) is entirely mine. And only God knows how much I regret having acted so badly towards our daughter  before! But I learned my lesson and finally understood that Becky isn't disrespecting us, she's just taking control of her own life, which is completely fair. She's already an adult woman, responsible and fully capable of supporting herself and making decisions on her own. All I want is to look into my daughter's eyes and tell her how proud I am of her and how happy I am for her. I want her to be happy and I know that only Freen is the right person to make our Rebecca happy! So please, my love, help me regain Becky's tryst. I promise I won't let her down!" The thai woman said sincerely.
"Do you promise this is all you want?" Richie asked in a really serious tone.
"I do, honey!" Rawee replied smiling sincerely.
"Ok, I think I can help you. It's time to end this unpleasant situation between the both of you. Ok, I'll give you a hand, but I swear, if you step out of line..."
"I won't,  I swear!"
"Do I have your word?" The man was trying to make sure his wife was sincere.
"More than that. I swear for our children. And if I brake my promise, you can leave me."

Richie knew Rawee.  He knew she was sincere.

"Ok. Let's go. I'm gonna take you there "
