"And then, they got back to listen to what Richie had to say."

When they came back, Richie sr immediately stood up and went over his daughter, saying desperately:

"Becky, please, listen to me, I beg you!"

The thai/british girl didn't say a word, she just looked at her father and waited for him to start speaking:

"Girls, I'm really sorry. I made a real mess! I didn't know how to put into words my thoughts and look what I've done... I screwed it all up! I never said I"ve changed my mind,Becky. You know your old man, I never go back on my decisions. I am and always have been a man of my word! But I admit I screwed up. I made you think that I'm no longer supporting you, and I'm keenly aware that it's entirely my fault! And for that, I ask for your forgiveness! My daughter, I stand by everything I told you earlier today! Your love is something so grand that it should never, under any circumstances, be wasted on conventions... I was trying to say that you, girls, need to be smarter than them,"

Freen's eyes narrowed slightly - not in defiance, but in focus.

"You want a future together, right? Then you have to survive long enough to build it. I don't know if I'm making myself clear... Gosh!"

Suddenly, Rawee finally stepped forward, her voice softer now, and said, in an attempt of helping her husband:

"What we're trying to say is that we're not against you, my daughters." She said gently. "We're just... afraid for you. And it's not about being afraid that people will say awful things of you for living together without being married or anything like that. This really doesn't concern us. Because when there is love, especially a love like yours, nothing else matters! And that's exactly how it should be, so... we want them to fuck off!!!

Everyone giggled with Rawee's last words.

"But our concern is precisely with those moralistic people - or rather, false moralistics - who are capable of creating perfect love stories between two women in fiction, and yet are still completely unable to accept a romance between two women in real life... urgh, that's simply ridiculous!!!!"

The atmosphere in the room began to getcleaner... and Mrs Armstrong continued:

"We just want you to protect yourselves, to understand that even if you keep this in private for now, you'll face many obstacles ahead. What we want you to understand is that prejudice is the least of the problems. You need to be prepared to face all kinds of comments, all kinds of situations. Many people will... how do you call it? "ship" you as a real life couple (is that the right term? "ship"? whaterver... hahahahaha). Those people will support you, will always lift you up. But unfortunately, there will also be haters - cruel people incapable of respecting the most beautiful feeling in the world: love. What those people doesn't understand is that love is love, no matter who lives it, as long as it's lived fully! And those are exactly the people who can hurt you. The both of you... malicious comments, rumors - which will certainly come. Can you understand what I'm trying to explain now? Even so I'm not sure if I'm making myself clear enough..." Rawee's voice faltered slightly at the end, her eyes, (and Richie Senior's too) glistening as they looked at their daughter. For a brief moment, the room fell into a heavy silence, the weight of Rawee's words settling over everyone present.
