Part 38

"Hey Tris, can we talk?"

"Uh yeah. What's up?" I ask, maybe just as nervous as he is.

He takes a deep breath. "Okay, so I uh..." He scratches the back of his neck before continuing. "I know that you're dating F-Four and all."

Oh God.

"Yeah, so?"

"But I kind of feel like..." He pauses.

"Like...?"

"Like we have a connection."

Uhhhhhh.......

"Like Chris' wifi connection?" I ask.

Please don't let him say what I think he's gonna say.

"No, l-like a l-love connection."

NOOOOOO! WHY?!

"What I'm trying to say is, I l-like you, Tris, I may even, l-love you."

Holy mother of picture frames.

"Woah there Al. First off love is a really strong word, okay. Second, you don't even know me that well. Third, I uh I just don't like you like that okay? I'm dating Four, a-and you know that. Do you think I was going to dump him for you?"

He slowly gets off the bed and then in one swift move pins me to a wall.

"Maybe this'll change your mind." He says leaning in to kiss me.

Oh no.

I quickly turn my head so he kisses my cheek.

"Come on Tris, let it happen. Stop being a tease." He says, starting to get a little handsy.

"Al stop." I wimper. Not gonna lie, I'm scared out my bones right now. He takes his hand and squeezes my face to turn it towards him. He leans in, and our lips barely brush together when he gets yanked away from me.

Tobias.

Tobias wrestles him to the ground and straddles him while punching him after each word. Well more like after each syllable.

"Don't. You. Ev. Ver. Touch. My. Girl. Friend. Ev. Ver. A. Gain." He says while punching him. Oh yeah, that'll definitely leave bruises, and scars.

Zeke rushes in and yanks Tobias off of him. "Four!" He says. Tobias ignores him. "Four!" He says a second time. He ignores him. "FOUR!" Still ignored. "Tobias." He whispers to him.

And just like the Tobias is snapped out of his daze, and calms down. I'm too stunned to say or do anything, so I just stand there. Staring at Al's bloody face...ew.

After a second or two I snap out of my daze because Tobias says something.

"Oh my God. I-I'm just like him. I'm a monster, a-a coward. I'm just like him." He whispers. His eyes scanning Al's unconscious body.

"No man, don't ever say that. You're nothing like like that beast. Okay? You had a reason to beat Al. He had no business trying to put his filthy hands and lips on her. You were protecting and saving her." Zeke says looking at Tobias, but Tobias is too focused on Al.

"Yeah sure." He whispers. Then makes eye contact with me. He walks over to me and instantly embraces me with a hug. He kinda pets my hair, as I lean my head against his chest, hearing his rapid heart beat.

"I'm just gonna leave you guys. I'll take him with me." Zeke says pointing to Al.

[Zeke POV]

I lug this son of a female dog, Al, downstairs.

"Oh my gosh, what happened?" Shauna asks speechless.

"He tried to kiss Tris against her will."

"That bastard." Chris gasps.

"WHERE'S BEATRICE?!" Her brother starts to freak out.

"Chris' room." I say. And before I know it, he zooms passed me, up to her room.

[Caleb POV]

I burst into Chris' room, only to find Beatrice and Four in a heated make out session.

"Eh hem." I clear my throat. They instantly pull away, both blushing really red. "Can I speak to my sister?"

"Yeah." Four says, without moving a muscle.

"Alone." I add.

"N-" Four starts, but Beatrice cuts him off.

"It's okay Four. It'll only be a second."

"Okay." He says kissing her forehead, then leaving, shutting the door behind him.

"Four's pretty protective, huh?" I say.

[Tris POV]

"Four's pretty protective, huh?" He asks.

"Yeah, he is. It's why I feel safe with him around." I say.

"Yeah, so are you okay?" He asks, looking genuinely concerned,

"Yeah, I'm okay, I guess."

"Tris you don't have to lie to me. It's okay not to be okay."

"Did you just quote Jesse J?" I ask.

"Maybe. But for real, tell me what's wrong. And don't say 'nothing' because you're the world's worst liar."

"Okay fine. Caleb..." I start tearing up, and you know what? This time I'm not keeping them back. "I miss mom and dad and Marlene." He hugs me, and I hug him back.

"I know. I know." He sounds on verge of crying himself.

"How is it that the most important people in my life are gone. I mean besides you, but you've been gone basically all my life, and I'm sure you'll have to leave soon." I cry into his chest.

"Well I guess this time is as good as any to tell you..." He starts.

I peel away from him and look into his blue eyes. "To tell me what?"

"That last week I bought an apartment five minutes away from your place. And yes I know you'll be going to college soon, but I thought we could at least spend the summer together. What do you think?"

"What do I think? OH MY GOD CALEB, THAT'S HUGE!" I say bear hugging him, then pulling away. "OH MY-, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! WE'RE GONNA GET TO SEE EACHOTHER EVERYDAY?! T-THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE! THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST NEWS I'VE RECIEVED IN QUITE A LONG TIME! GOD, I CAN'T WAIT!"

"I thought you might like that." He says with a smug grin on his face.

"Like?! I LOVE IT!"

"I uh have all my stuff with me in my car. I don't own much due to the fact that I have basically lived in a hospital, so after I leave here, I'll head over there and unpack."

"I'm SOOOO coming with you." I say.

"Okay then, sounds like a plan."

"GOSH I'M SOOO EXCITED!"

"Same here!"

"We should probably get downstairs before they start to worry." I point out.

"Alright. Beatrice, I can't remember the last time I told you this, but I love you."

"I love you too, Caleb."

I love you too.

I was just sooooo excited to do this chapter, that I wrote it right after I published the previous chapter lol.
