Y/n's pov:

After months of being at the farm, I had finally found a spot to relax against.

It wasn't anything special; just a large grey rock submerged in the dirt that overlooked the forest. It was out of the way and somewhat hidden because of how overgrown it was, but I didn't mind. If anything, I quite liked the fact that it wouldn't appeal others.

I've always liked the quiet and I have enjoyed my own solitude for as long as I could remember, and when I stumbled upon this rock on one of my walks around the farm, I realised I had found what I was looking for.

It was somewhere I knew people didn't go. It was unkept and unloved and although it was unappealing to most, I thought the rock was best thing in this place.

I could think out here; the silence allowed me to ponder on things I otherwise wouldn't. It gives me space to feel things on my own time. It lets me grieve privately, away from everyone else.

But this time, I wasn't alone.

I knew from the start I was being followed, and in any other situation, I wouldn't have ended up here. I couldn't have other people knowing about this place, because it wouldn't be mine anymore.

But I didn't mind so much that Gally had tailed me all this way.

I call out to him as I lean myself against the rock. "You are terrible at staying hidden, you know."

His footsteps quicken; it doesn't take him long before he's on the path and is standing just metres away from me. "I wasn't trying to hide. I was trying to talk to you before you ran off."

I folded my arms across my chest. "If you thought I was 'running off', did you not consider the possibility that I didn't want to talk to you?"

He glared back at me as he approached. "No. I would never consider that."

Gally's gaze softens ever so slightly as he stands before me with his arms folded and a concerned look on his face.

He pauses briefly before he asks, "Are you okay?"

I rolled my eyes. "I'm fine, Gally."

He doesn't quite seem to buy that as an answer but clearly doesn't want to push it.

"How's the shoulder?"

Luckily, it had barely been hurting since Beck stitched it back together. I was lucky to get away with just a scratch, if I'm honest.

"It's fine. Practically no damage done." I reply casually.

He frowns. "You were shot earlier, y/n. You should be resting instead of wandering around the forest."

I really didn't want to argue about this. I'd much rather be left alone than discuss it.

I sigh, already irritated at this conversation. "I told you, I'm fine. Everything is healing as it should."

Gally walks the distance between us as his glare deepens. "Why won't you let us help you?"

I took a deep breath in before formulating a response. I knew he was just trying to help, but something he's never been able to understand is that I don't need his help, and I don't want it either.

"I'm not having this argument with you again, Gally. I'm okay, really."

We stood watching the other, both with the same irritated expression. He said nothing, and so I changed the subject.
