Hi, this is Ms. BB!
I just wanna share that I've been writing stories since I was 11 years old, though back then, I never really finished any of them.
One of the first stories I wrote was "Night Academy", a fantasy about a school where only immortals studied — werewolves, vampires, witches, and other supernatural beings. It was chaotic, imaginative, and incredibly fun to write, especially for an 11-year-old.
Then came "The Death of Yours", a thriller about a boy who witnessed his mother's brutal death inside their own home. He grew up carrying anger and revenge in his heart, until meeting his daughter slowly began to change him.
I also wrote "Days of Lies", another thriller centered around twins. After an outing, only one returned home — confused, suffering from memory loss, and surrounded by people insisting he was someone he no longer recognized himself to be. Eventually, he discovered the truth: he wasn't who everyone claimed he was. And that was when the days of lies truly began.
There was also "Sacrime City: Heaven and Hell". If Korea has North and South, Sacrime City had Heaven and Hell — two divided worlds within the same city. Safe Haven was built for the innocent, while Hell Dungeon was reserved for murderers and criminals. I never got to publish that story either.
And finally, there's "The Life That Echoes".
It was once titled "In Another Life", but over time, the story evolved along with me.
Originally, Cleo and Yuen were meant to be the main characters. But as the story grew, I realized Lorenzo and Annys carried far more emotional depth and potential. So I rewrote everything around them.
I first started writing this story in 2018, then stopped in 2020. At 14 years old, I realized I couldn't fully express the grief Lorenzo carried. I was too young to truly understand loss, love, or the weight of life itself.
Now, I'm 21.
Still young, but old enough to have lived through experiences that changed the way I see emotions, relationships, and pain.
And that changes everything.
What I wrote at 11, 14, and 21 were never failures simply because they remained unfinished. They were proof that I kept creating while growing through different versions of myself.
Looking back now, I realize each story already carried something meaningful:
• Night Academy had imagination and world-building.
• The Death Of Yours explored trauma and revenge.
• Days Of Lies had psychological tension and identity confusion.
• Sacrime City: Heaven and Hell already had social division and moral conflict.
• The Life That Echoes carry something deeper now — grief, love, memory, healing, and the weight of living.
I think the reason The Life That Echoes stayed with me for so many years is because the story grew alongside me. Some stories are written purely for entertainment. But others wait until the writer becomes emotionally capable of telling them honestly.
At 14, I understood grief as loud sadness.
At 21, I understand that grief can also be silent.
It lingers in habits, in pauses, in the avoidance of certain songs, places, names, or memories. Love becomes more terrifying too, because now I understand what it truly means to lose it.
Rewriting the story because Lorenzo and Annys felt more alive than Cleo and Yuen was also a turning point for me as a writer. I stopped forcing the plot and started listening to the characters.
That's when storytelling became real.
Unfinished stories don't mean I can't write. Most writers have entire graveyards of abandoned drafts. What matters is that there's always one story that keeps calling them back.
And for me, I think that story is The Life That Echoes.
Not because it's perfect.
But because, for the first time, I finally understand the emotions it asks me to tell.
So, if you're one of the people who made it this far, thank you so much.
I hope this story touches your heart in some way. More than anything, I hope it reminds you that life... no matter how painful, confusing, or fragile it can be, still holds meaning worth holding onto.
Love, Ms. BB ♡
