Holy Milishial Empire

The Sleepless Magic City's surface world was every bit as vibrant as Luger Lugh had seen and heard, where the activities of people that continued even deep past midnight continued to breathe life into this metropolis. Truly, a place that stood in a league of its own.

At one point, she found herself wondering just how much of this had been altered by the White Lotus Leader.

Since the emergence of pedanium technology, nearly everything touched by the enigmatic young visionary had undergone transformations so drastic that it was almost unrecognizable. Yet this city was different. Long before the revolution began, the Sleepless Magic City had already been described as a glimpse into the future. Unlike cities such as Le Brias or Duro, whose appearances were dramatically reshaped by the technological upheaval, the changes here felt far less pronounced—not because of delayed integration like Esthirant, but because Runepolis had always pulsed with overwhelming energy and progress—no matter how the government seemed obsessed with upgrading the city piece by piece, week after week, as though terrified of stagnation. This made it really ironic that the birthplace of the world's greatest force of change ended up becoming the place that seemed to change the least.

Outwardly, that is.

The underground tunnel networks controlled by layers of clandestine organizations, however, had evolved without restraint. After hearing about the supposedly infinite mana reserves mined from the Hollow Planet and the astonishing pace of pedanium production, Luger could hardly shake the suspicion that the tunnels themselves were constructed from that alien material. Even if Runepolis were bombarded from the skies by a hostile force, those underground shelters would remain unbroken—fortresses of absolute durability hidden beneath the city.

Certainly durable enough to imprison a rampaging Unidentified Lifeform.

Right——

That was one of the reasons she had come here: to escort the creature captured in Trinil the other day. The other was because she herself was about to undergo an examination.

That was when Luger met her, a brown-haired woman whose eyes carried an oddly unsettling gleam.

"...You're his teacher?"

The bald woman's gaze lingered on her for a moment longer.

Robin Arkland did not look particularly extraordinary at first glance. Brown hair tied loosely behind her head, paired with plain street clothes and a loose red scarf, along with an almost careless smile that made her seem more like a tired office worker than someone connected to the White Lotus Leader. Yet... Luger couldn't shake off a feeling that this woman was observing her beyond the surface level.

For her part, Robin blinked once before letting out a small laugh.

"...Well, officially, yes," she said, scratching her cheek awkwardly. "But honestly, it's not like there was ever much I could teach Meteos. Even from the very beginning."

Luger remained silent, waiting for her to continue. Robin's smile grew thinner.

"He already told you, didn't he? About the 'future knowledge' thing."

"...He could already see those hypothetical scenarios since he was five, if I remember correctly."

"Right. Once you understand that part, calling myself his 'teacher' starts sounding kind of ridiculous."

In other words, when others perceive Robin as the master, she herself has always been the one learning. A child capable of perceiving fragments of the future... how exactly was someone supposed to educate such a person?
