Note!:
Hey! It's been a hot minute there, yeah? I was busy (and forgot). Here are a few points I wanna make:
-We reached 300k words! Damn, that's a lot.
-I've changed the story's summary because the old one sounded too... I don't know! But something didn't add up well with it, and now I've come around to fixing it :)
-I've edited the first two chapters (again) to make them easier to read, and plan to try to edit more.
-I'll probably get super busy (emergency flight blah blah), so I won't have access to upload for the next two months, maybe even three. Hopefully less because I'll be worried sick for my cat (he can't come with me :()
-I was a little sad lately, so my motivation wasn't so great; that's why this chapter took so long.
_AND (I almost forgot!) happy 3rd anniversary for this story! I just realized this XD
Anyway, hope you enjoy this chapter!

Waking up the next morning was like no other morning this whole past week or so. For once in so long, they wake up refreshed—their mind clear and body fully relaxed; no aches present or the exhaustion following continuous nightmares.
Outside, the sun has barely begun to rise. It was far earlier than they usually wake up, but despite that, they feel fully rested.
Moon (as they notice is the one out) stretches, hands coming to rub his face when he pauses at the weird sensation in his mouth and—oh! Right. That. He almost forgot about that.
Moon takes the pacifier out, wiping drool that was on his cheek with his other hand, finding more dry drool all over the pillow. Distantly, he remembers waking up twice during the night to search for the fallen pacifier (which might explain the mess), before stuffing it back into their mouth. And that is a little bit... gross, but... their mind came to a conclusion:
To sleep like a baby, baby-methods and gears must be used.
And, sometimes, babies are a little gross. Or, perhaps, they just don't understand what is gross yet, and neither do they care.
Moon, of course, cares quite a lot about what is gross. It is why they asked for a pacifier instead of sticking to their fingers.
That aside, they would say that sleeping with it in their mouth had come almost naturally, soothing their crowded mind like something enchanted.
Moon sits on his elbows to reach for the nightstand where the cap of the paci is placed. He's careful not to wake you up as he grabs it and secures it over their prized possession, keeping it from getting dirty.
With a sigh, Moon lies back down, grabbing Mr. Goose from where it sat in the corner and hugging it to his chest. It was too early to wake you up, and they had no need to wake up now either. They could simply enjoy the warmth of their blankets and your close presence.
Filed-down claws pet the goose plushie gently as if it were a cat loafing on their chest, drawing their fingers over its flower crown, eyes studying the perfectly done stitches.
Flashes of when they, delirious and confused, tore at its fabric like flesh, unapologetically destroying what they claimed was dear to them...
A frown tugged at Moon's lips as he hugged the plushie closer, wishing he could go back in time to stop himself but—
