Chapter 5

Later that evening when I was back in the room, I was sitting on the couch waiting on Cole to come back from a meeting. I looked around the room for something to do. His room is so boring. I spotted a book on the dresser and went over to it. I read the title and it didn't sound interesting at all. "Vampire rule book". This doesn't sound like something I would read. I heard the door open and felt someone's presence behind me. I immediately knew it was Cole.

"Bored I see?", he asked.

"A little bit. You've been gone for an hour and I had nothing better to do", I replied.

"You could've went and walked around for the whole hour", he said.

"Then I couldn't have found my way back here", I said.

He chuckled and gave me a hug and kissed my forehead. He looked at me and his soft green eyes were calming.

"What was that for?", I asked.

"I don't know. I just felt like doing that", he replied.

I looked down and he tilted my head up and his lips met mine. I didn't know what was happening but it just didn't feel right. Even though it feels right in my mind, my heart is telling me it won't. I felt a sharp piercing on my bottom lip. Must be his thirst that's causing this. When his fangs retracted, I tasted my blood in my mouth. It tasted kind of sweet like candy but sweeter. He pulled away a few seconds later and looked at me.

"What was that?", I asked.

"Me showing my feelings for you", he replied.

"Why?", I asked.

"Cause. You're different from other girls. You don't throw yourself at me to get my attention. You weren't scared of me the day I pinned you against the wall. You're just different. I like that about you", he replied.

"Cole. I know that I'm different but I'm just the help. Your royalty and I'm just a human", I said.

"I don't care about all that. I want you. Do you think I'd be standing here confessing my love for you if I didn't?", he asked.

"Guess not. But what are we gonna tell your parents?", I asked.

"Don't worry about that. Everything will be okay as long as we're together", he replied.

"But I don't wanna get you in trouble", I said.

"I won't. And neither will you. For now we just have to keep it a secret", he said.

"Like Romeo and Juliet?", I asked.

"Like Romeo and Juliet", he replied.

He gently pulled me close to him and smashed his lips on mine. He pulled away and looked into my eyes.

"I promise I won't let anything happen to you", he said.
