The next day I stayed in the room practically all day thinking about what happened yesterday. Does Cole really feel that way about me? If he does, should I feel the same way about him? Everything is just so confusing. I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I looked horrible. Especially since I left home. I sighed and walked out the bathroom and saw Cole sitting on the bed.

"Don't you have some business to attend to?", I asked curiously.

"I did but my mother cancelled the meeting", he replied.

I walked across the room to the window. I looked down and saw the villagers getting ready for the day. I wonder how my mother is holding up. If I see her will she forgive me for choosing to work in the castle? Will I be a disgrace to her? Will she kicked me out the family? Or worse. Disown me? No she wouldn't do that. She loves me to much to do a thing like that.

"Are you okay?", he asked.

"Yeah. Everything's fine", I replied.

He put his hands on my shoulders and gave me a kiss on my cheek. I felt a warm feeling run through my body. I knew he knew something was wrong but I don't feel like telling him right now.

"I have to go somewhere. I'll be back in a little while", he said.

"Can't I go with you?", I asked.

"I don't know. It's a meeting and you really don't want to sit through a meeting", he replied.

"I can't stand to be away from you", I said.

"Same but I don't want you to sit there and have no idea what we're talking about", he said.

I gave him my best sad look but it didn't look like he was falling for it. Even though he can say no cause he has no heart but he can't say no. Not even the farmers in the market can say no to a poor helpless girl. He finally gave in.

"Alright. You can come with me. Just stay close. I don't need anyone getting any ideas", he said.

"Why are you going to meeting?", I asked as we walked to the carriage.

"Well this one is for the ball that's coming up", he replied.

We got inside the carriage and the man closed the door. I felt the carriage start moving so we must be taking off.

"Where are we going?", I asked.

"Just a few miles north. To my uncle's kingdom Seren", he replied.

"Is he also a vampire?", I asked.

"Yeah", he replied.

I stared out the window and watched as we passed multiple trees and lakes. The scenery is beautiful I have to admit but seeing the same thing over and over again is just boring. The carriage stopped and I stared at the building. Tall grey stones with closed windows and tall grass that went up to my ankles surrounded it. Don't these people have lawn mowers? Better yet, people to mow the lawn for them? We stepped out the carriage and started walking towards the castle. The inside was beautiful. Large chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, marble covered the floor, and two thrones were placed on top of small steps. We walked through countless doors and finally stopped at a red door. Cole looked at me and looked away pushing the door open. Inside was a room full of tables and chairs. The table in the center was occupied with three people. There were two empty chairs and we went and sat in them. Sitting across from me was a blonde haired girl who looked about my age if not older. She had beautiful palish skin so I think she's a vampire. Just like the bou sitting next to her except he had brown hair. Another man sitting at the head of the table had black hair and looked palish to. Are they all vampires?

"Ah Cole. So glad you could make it", the girl said.

The girl turned to look at me and gave me a small smile. I watched her icy blue eyes turned red. Yep. Definitely a vampire.

"I see you brought a snack", she said.

"Sorry Raven but she's not on the menu", Cole said.

The boy at the head of the table gave Raven a cold stare like she did something wrong.

"Cole, where's the rest of your family?", the black haired boy asked.

"King Derek, I'm sure they'll be here any minute", Cole replied.

Just as he said that, they all came in and took their seats. They all seemed surprised that I was here. Maybe they didn't expect for me to come. Maybe I wasn't supposed to.

"Now that we're all here we can start the meeting", King Derek said.

After hours of sitting in the chair, the meeting finally ended. We got in the carriage and went back to the castle. I stared out the window all the way there and I heard Cole chuckle and I have no idea what's so funny.

"What's so funny?", I asked.

"Just thinking about the way King Derek gave Raven that look earlier", he replied.

"That wasn't funny. I was terrified that I was going to become her next meal", I said.

"Sorry love but the look on your face was very amusing", he said.

"Oh was it now?", I asked.

"Very", he replied.

For the rest of the ride, we were both quiet until we got we got back home. To be honest, I was glad to be back in the room. I sat on the bed and watched as Cole ran around the room looking for something.

"What are you looking for?", I asked.

"Not important", he replied.

He continued to run around the room and finally stopped at a pile of papers on his desk. I stared at the pile and wondered what he needed from there. He carefully pulled a piece of paper and stared.

"Perfect", he said.
