Chapter 31

The sunlight crept in through the blinds. I felt two hands around my waist. Even though I was laying down. A set of soft lips touched mine.

"Isabel. It's the day", he said.

"What day would that be?", I asked.

"The day of the ball", he replied.

"That's not until later on in the evening', I said.

"Well yes but you have to get your dress", he said.

"I know. I can't wait to see it", I said.

"I've also arranged for a makeup team to come aroung noon to help you get ready. The ball begins at seven", he said removing his hands from around my waist.

"Okay", I said.

"So you have to wake up", he said.

"Oh great", I said sarcastically.

"What's wrong?", he asked.

"It's nothing. I'll be up in a few", I replied.

He got out the bed and walked out the room closing the door behind him. I sat up and looked at the dresser. There was a box with a piece of paper on top of it. I got out of bed and looked at the note. It was from Cole.

'I want you to wear this to the ball tonight. I made sure it fits you perfectly'.

I opened the box and inside was a diamond tiara. It was sparkly and the diamonds shined in the sunlight. It had smaller diamonds engraved in the head rest part. I closed the box and looked around the room. It felt empty here without Cole. The door flew open and there was a lady with long flowing blonde hair, pale skin and brown eyes. Cole came from behind her and looked at me.

"I thought she was coming at noon and isn't there supposed to be more people with her?", I asked.

"Well she insisted on coming early and the rest of them had to get ready for the ball themselves", he replied.

"My name is Haley and I'll be your stylist and makeup crew", she said.

Haley looked at me trying to figure out what look would look best on me.

"Okay. I can work with this. How long do we have?", she asked.

"Seven hours exactly", Cole replied.

"I only need six and a half", she said walking in.

She carried in two suitcases and led me to the bathroom. She set one suitcases by the door and pulled one towards me. She opened the suitcase and pulled out a foldable chair. I sat down and she rolled the other suitcase to my direction and opened it. Out came different hair irons, lipsticks, eyeliner, blush you name it. She brushed my hair and I felt her snip a few strands. I guess I had some splint ends. She brushed my hair again And put some spray in it. She then messed with my face putting a very dark eyeliner on my eyes. Then she added some pink blush and some dark eyeshadow. Then some red lipstick and then she was done. This took hours because she wanted it to be perfect. Then gave my hair some small curls at the roots. It took five hours to do that. She painted my nails blood red and this took another hour. She had to give me a full manicure to make my nails look perfect.

"There. You're all done", she said.

I looked at myself in the mirror and I didn't recognize myself. I no longer looked like the Isabel from this morning. Someone knocked at the door and Haley went to answer it.

"This is Isabel's dress", a female voice said.

"Thank you", Haley said.

She closed the door and came back in the bathroom. She held a garment bag that held my dress. She unzipped the bag and my dress was so beautiful. It was a purple long flowing dress that had one shoulder strap and it was covered in sparkles. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Haley helped me out it on without messing up my hair or makeup. I went to the closet and pulled out a purple pair of heels. I put them on and found a diamond necklace and a diamond bracelet. Haley helped me out on the tiara and I was finally done. I had five minutes to get to the ballroom now. I opened the door and walked down the hallway. Cole was waiting for me at the door with his parents. His parents had their arms linked around each other.

"Isabel you look beautiful", the king said.

"I agree. You will be the prettiest girl there", the queen said.

"Well I wouldn't say the prettiest but thank you anyway", I said linking arms with Cole.

I heard the music begin to play and then the king and queen walked inside. We followed after them and everyone gasped at the sight of us. Everyone bowed as we made our way down the staircase. I began to get cold feet.

"Dont worry. All you have to do is standing there and look pretty. No problem there", he said.

"Thanks. You don't look so bad yourself", I said.

A slow song came on and I was swept off my feet immediately and I was dancing. I haven't danced in years and I was surprised that I still knew how. The song ended and Cole went up to the stage before telling me he had to make an announcement.

"Attention everyone. I have a special announcement to make", he said.

Everyone turned their attention to the stage.

"Okay. First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone for coming here tonight. Everyone looks lovely this evening. I would like to give a toast to everyone who could make it here tonight. Also, I would like for Isabel to come up to the stage please", he said.

Everyone looked at me and made a path for me to get up there. I attempted to not trip and fall in my heels or trip over my dress. Everyone looked at me and Cole and the crowd was silent. I felt this awkward moment go through the air. Cole pulled something out of his back pocket and bent down on one knee. He held the microphone towards him and everyone gasped. He opened the box and inside was a beautiful diamond ring.

"Isabel. Would you do me the honor of being my wife?", he asked.
