"Isabel. Isabel", a soothing voice said.
I put one of the pillows over my face hoping he wouldn't attempt to pull it away from me.
"Isabel come on I know you're awake", he said.
"Just give me five more minutes", I said.
"Well I could do that or we could go out today", he said.
I pulled the pillow away from my face and looked at him. I wasn't happy but he appeared to be.
"I say you give me five more minutes", I said. I buried my face in the pillow but he moved it away from me. I threw a pillow at him but unfortunately he caught it before it actually hit him.
"Show off", I muttered.
"What was that?", he asked.
"I said you are so dead", I replied.
"Already dead", he said.
"Well then your are so dead again", I said.
I threw some more pillows at him and he threw some at me.
"Okay I'm awake", I said.
"Good because we have a long day ahead of us", he said.
He got off the bed and walked to the bathroom. I laid back on the bed and closed my eyes. I honestly didn't care if he was going to throw the pillows at me again. I needed some sleep. I heard footsteps come back in the room and I didn't even bother looking at him.
"So are you just gonna sleep all day?", he asked.
"Maybe. Unless we do something fun today", I replied.
"We are", he said.
I looked at him and I seriously doubt I that we're doing anything fun today.
"What are we doing?", I asked.
"We are going out. For the whole day", he replied.
"Where?", I asked.
"It's a surprise", he replied.
I got out of bed and trudged to the bathroom. My hair was a mess and I had bags under my eyes. My eyes were a golden color now like Cole's. I brushed my hair quickly and walked in the bathroom feeling exhausted.
"So what are we doing today?", I asked.
"We are spending the whole day out of the castle. Just you and me", he replied.
"Like where?", I asked.
"Like we can go out for a walk, visit some of your favorite places and some of mine", he replied.
"Hmm. I guess that would be okay", I said.
"Great and I'm also taking you shopping", he said.
"Are you kidding me? Where?", I asked.
"Wherever you wanna go", he replied.
"Lets go to one of those fancy malls. Like the ones were lords and ladies shop", I said.
"That's all the way in Gonela. But I did say wherever you want to go didn't I?", he asked.
"Yes you did", I replied.
"Okay. Lets go then", he said.
I walked out the room with Cole by my side. We walked downstairs and into the carriage.
"How far is Gonela?", I asked.
"Just an hour away. The original rulers wanted our kingdoms to be close to each other in case something bad happens", he replied.
"But you're all vampires. I don't see why they just couldn't use their speed to get there", I said.
"That's because it was when vampires had just been created. No one has any idea who the original vampire is and if he or she is still alive", he said.
"This must've been thousands of years ago right?", I asked.
"Yeah. So anyway the original ruler created a vampire and so on. Then they decided to split up and make kingdoms. So then those rulers got married and then had kids. So then their children would inherit the throne when they were no longer fit to rule. One of my ancestors is apart of the vampire council", he explained.
"How many are on the council?", I asked.
"There's thirty of them but my grandmother's grandmother's grandmother's is the head of the council", he replied.
"So she makes all the rules?", I asked.
"Technically but someone has to do something incredibly stupid so she can make it a rule", he replied.
"So like if a vampire and a human were to fall in love and then have a child?", I asked.
"Now that is something that can never happen", he replied.
"Why?", I asked.
"Well no one has ever tried that but the chances of them having a child is very low. It's a 10% chance of that happening", he replied.
"So in other words it can never happen?", I asked.
"Well I'm not saying it's impossible. It's just that no one has ever dared to try it", he replied.
I looked out the window and saw a huge kingdom. It must be nicer than ours. The people we're even dressed better than the people back home. These people had nice clothes that weren't tattered and torn. They looked clean and they all had nice houses. They all looked well rested and fed. The people back home couldn't sleep and barely had any food. Then that made me think about my previous life. How me and my mother barely had enough food for the both of us so she would let me eat whatever we had. She would go to bed hungry most nights. She wouldn't let me go hungry which is what a mother was supposed to do but I always felt bad. So the next day I would spend the whole day searching for food for the both of us. The carriage came to a stop and we both got out. He held my hand the whole way as we walked through the town. We stopped at a huge building marked 'Gonela Mall'. It was huge. Back in Aden, we don't have a mall. Just a small shack that barely has anything in it. We walked inside and there had to be at least five different floors full of stores. I pulled him to the first one to my left and browsed through the dresses. I picked out at least ten different dresses and gave them to him.
"This is gonna be a long day", he said.
I looked at him and smiled.
"You're so right", I said.
