Cole's POV
I watched her as her eyes closed. I knew she wasn't dead because her heart was still beating. It was at a very slow pace and her face was white as snow. Her cheeks were no longer pink. They were just plain. Her body was paler than before. I rushed out the room to find Carly. I tracked her scent to the kitchen. She was picking up a tray and then looked at me. She knows exactly why I'm here. This isn't going to be pretty.
"Carly I need to speak with you", I said.
She put the tray on the counter and stood in front of me.
"Your highness", she said and bowed.
"What did you do to Isabel?", I asked.
"Me? I'm sorry but I didn't do that. Besides, your "mate" is just a pawn in this game. I know all your weaknesses. I will get rid of everyone you love to destroy you", she said.
"You could've killed her", I said.
"Oh she'll be fine. When she wakes up, she won't remember a thing that happened today", she said.
"When I find out what happened to my Isabel I will rip you to shreds", I growled.
'Mm feisty are we?", she asked.
"Just stay away from Isabel", I replied.
I walked away from the kitchen and back to the room. Once I got back to the room, I opened the door and Isabel was still laying in bed. She didn't deserve this. She doesn't deserve to be put in danger everywhere she turns in this castle. I sat next to her on the bed. Her breathing pattern was slower than it was a few minutes ago. I began to worry that she would die. I know she's to trying to be strong for me but she can't be strong for me if she can't be strong for herself. This is all my fault. If I'd never left alone, she wouldn't be like this. Something in my mind is telling me that this isn't the end. Her body jerked and she coughed. She sat up and looked at me. She laid on my chest and went back to sleep. Her heart beat got a little faster. I began to feel a little better than it slowed down. I had to do something. I gently laid her head on the pillow and walked out the room. I went downstairs to the library. I picked a book on "Humans Who Have Been Injected Wurh Sleeping Medicine". Long title short book. I opened to page 256 and skimmed through the page. This was useless. I put the book down on the table and ran upstairs to my room. Isabel was still laying on the bed, heart beating slowly. I had to do something. I ran downstairs outside and outside to the lake where Serena lived. Secretly the lake connects to the ocean which is where all the sirens live. I took my shirt, shoes and socks off and jumped into the lake. I swam to the bottom of the lake and swam through the tunnel that connected to the ocean. Once I was through, I swam the the castle where Serena lives. I passed the guards easily and swam to the throne room. She has to be here. The doors were closed and I heard people talking. I opened the door and ten eyes stared at me.
"Sorry for the interruption but I need to speak with Serena", I said. The others left leaving me and Serena by ourselves.
"Serena I need that spell", I said.
"Who said I was gonna give it to you?", she asked.
"Listen. Isabel is on the verge of death cause you won't give me the spell. Please give it to me", I replied.
"Mm. I don't think so. See the spell is a rare one which has to be protected. I just can't give it up and not know if I'll see it again", she said.
"Serena give it to me or else I'll be forced to take it", I said.
"Oh please. I would like to see you try. You won't succeed though. I only have the best security watching over it"; she said.
"Give it to me", I said.
