A week passed and I almost didn't notice. The time flew away so fast... unfortunately I still haven't launch any of my texts in the newspaper. Ian told me the Director was out for an important meeting in New York and he will only be here in some days to finally check out my work.
-But is he always that busy and absent from here? –I asked Ian while I was organizing some files together on my desk. He looked at me widened and I felt embarrassed. What did I do wrong?
-Richard... Sit, come closer to me. –he said almost in a whisper. The sunset was lighting the sky out there and everyone was packing and leaving for the weekend. I sat down and moved my chair next to him. He looked nervous and relieved his tie from his neck a bit.
-What is it Ian? –I finally asked. I was getting pretty confused with that.
-Richard, consider yourself lucky for being the new guy around here. Our Director is not that nice to us as Dr.Evans is... -he said, looking deeply into my eyes.
-Really? But... Is he that bad? –I asked. Ian cleared his throat and looked at me widened, once again.
-It's not a «he». It's a «she». –he said, as if that was the most dangerous secret in the world. I stayed in silence for some seconds and I burst with laughing. He looked offended, but I couldn't handle it!
-Richard, what's so funny?
-I'm so sorry Ian... But all that suspense... just because our Director is a woman?
-That's the point... -he said, looking serious again. I realised that there was something really cheeky about this woman.
-Tell me. Why do you fear her so much?
-She's the boss's daughter, to begin with. Her father, William Rogers, he's at home all the time. He's not that young anymore and, a few years ago, he decided to retire, but just from the offices. Of course he still owns the title of boss, however, he put his beloved and only daughter in charge, Miss Olivia Rogers. –he explained. Well, it made some sense in my brain. She's the main director of this empire, but why fear her so much?
-I got it... But why is she so frightening?
-When she walks in, everyone shuts up immediately. She's like a goddess... I mean, just her face, it... it demands respect. –now I was feeling a bit nervous too. On one hand, I couldn't wait to meet her and see if she was really that scary. On the other hand, I was scared. In fact, I was just in the beginning of this journey.
-Is she pretty? –I asked. Ian dropped his chin with my question.
-Pretty?! She is not just «pretty». She is gorgeous. All men have secret desires and wishes with her. I will not tell you anything more. You will find for yourself next Monday. –Ok, I was beyond nervous. But excited at the same time. I guess I was having a war in my conscience... What if she doesn't like my writing? What if she fires me the second she reads something I wrote? These questions were haunting my brain all the way back home.
I walked into my flat and greeted my cats. Little Kasimir was growing fast! I gave them good food and milk. Usually I don't give them milk, but it's their treat for every Friday. I made myself some dinner; grilled chicken with Chinese rice. My favourite treat! I set my plate ready and dropped myself on the couch. My cats jumped to my legs immediately and settled down to sleep. I searched for a random movie and that was my evening. However, I couldn't stop dreaming about Miss Rogers... How would she be like? Blonde or brunette? Blue eyes or green? Thick or thin lips? With those thoughts, I fell alseep on the couch.
-Do you like this, han?! Is this what you like, Miss Rogers?
-Ahh! I love when you... call me Miss Rogers...
-That's because you're mine... and only mine.
-Oh baby! I can't handle it, I... I'm almost there!
-Come for me...
-Richard...! Oh... fuck!
-Good girl... That's my good girl...
I jumped out of my pillow when I woke up from that crazy dream. I held my head in my hands while I endlessly tried to control my breathing. I felt my forehead sweating, my back, my chest, my belly... I uncovered myself and put the sheets to the side. As I thought...
-I cannot believe it! –I jumped out of my room and went into the bathroom. I looked like a teenager that had his first wet dream about a girl from his school that he had a crush on! That was just not for me, not for a grown up man! Gosh... How did I end up dreaming about my director? I don't even know her yet and I'm already having wet dreams with her?! Jesus Christ... I could only listen to her voice and feel her body on mine. I felt her sweet touch, her lips on my neck, my hands on her tights... But I couldn't see anything. I took a cold shower and came back to bed. It was 5 in the morning, so I decided to sleep some more.
The weekend was finally over and Monday was almost there. Since that dream on Friday night I couldn't think about anything else than she. I didn't tell anyone about the dream, or else they were laughing at me! On Saturday I went to a bar with my cousins and we had a great time without even getting drunk. I needed to chill a bit and try to forget about my director. But I just couldn't, in any way possible.
The morning after I did what I always do; fed my cats, made my breakfast, took a quick shower, got dressed and made my way to work. I turned up the radio a bit more, so I could sing a bit and chill some more before I got inside the office.
-Good morning! –everyone said to me everywhere I went; the elevator, the corridor, the reception. Finally, I arrived at my desk and there was a cup of coffee with a note on it.
Here's your coffee.
I went upstairs to the archives. Evans sent me.
Ian
I smiled to myself. It's good to have someone by my side when I'm just a beginner in this industry. I opened up my computer and started to write the chronicle I was writing at home. I also checked the news that arrived this morning and everything. Some long minutes passed and Amanda came to my desk.
-Mr. Armitage, follow me please. –she looked serious and I instantly thought in one thing: Olivia.
