This weekend was definitely one of the craziest ones I've ever lived. I got sick, to begin with. A terrible flu took place on my body and I had to stay in my bed for a long time. So what did I do? I took the best time I could to write this chapter. I've been waiting for this since I started this story and I knew the responsability I had. I couldn't risk to fail at this one! I wrote and then deleted everything. Then I wrote again and things started to compose themselves into the final result that you are about to read. Personally, I think it is perfect in its own way. The wedding describes both Olivia and Richard and I'm quite happy with the result! I really hope you like this one, enjoy it! :)
Last note: This weekend was also crazy, not only because I was sick, but because the world suffered another big tragedy. Not only in Paris, but in Brazil, Syria, Japan and others. I pray for each and everyone who are suffering from the moment they were born, who only saw war in their lives. I pray for humanity and for respect within people. I have hope.
(Olivia's POV)
-Richard has already left for Caswell House. –Alexia said, hanging up her phone, while my friends were doing my hair. My heart skipped a bit and I instantly thought of one thing: I am late! But then I realised that the bride is always a bit late, right? My father brought me a fruit salad and I was eating it while the ladies were taking care of me.
-Where are the hair pins? –one of them asked the other. They fixed my hair with some sparkle pins and let it fall on my back.
-Come on, finish your salad! You need to brush your teeth, so we can finally apply your lipstick. Move, lady! –Alexia said, making me laugh. I finished my breakfast and moved to the bathroom. I quickly did what I had to do and moved on to the room again.
-The moment of truth. Here comes the dress! –one of my friends said, clapping her hands with excitement. I took a deep breath and took off my silk robe. They all gasped and whistled at my sexy lingerie.
-Holly Jesus! Richard will have a lot of fun tonight! –another friend of mine said, making me blush. I laughed with them, but my attention was focused on the dress. I didn't want them to look much at my underwear... I put the dress on and let Alexia take care of the rest. I heard the zipper closing slowly and then all the girls shouted.
-It fits! Good job, Olivia! –they said, laughing.
-Now... Can we go? –I asked, impatiently.
-How do you want to go without your shoes on? –she said. Of course, the shoes...
-And now, can we go? –I asked again, laughing at myself. Alexia handed me my bucket of flowers and smiled.
-You are ready.
(MINUTES LATER)
There I was. Walking through the corridor, holding my father's arm. Flashbacks of my last wedding, coming through my mind all the time. We walked by the hall to the room where our ceremony would be and I stopped. My heart was jumping out of my chest, my hand shaking so much I could hardly hold the flowers. My father kissed my hand and smiled.
-This is your moment. –he whispered. A soft, happy violin song started to play. It was «Amazing Grace», just played by that instrument. Everyone got up from their chairs and looked at me with smiles on their faces. That was when I saw him. Richard was standing there, with Matt on his side. He was beyond elegant, we has stunning! It surprised me that we wasn't wearing black, but I loved it. Dark grey suit, with a lovely black bow and a white shirt. So simple, so gorgeous. We locked our eyes on each other while I walked slowly towards him. For a moment, I switched off my brain and focused on that man in front of me. I forgot about everything else.
(Richard's POV)
The more she walked closer to me, the more I felt tears in my eyes. I could see tears in her eyes too. My queen, my life. Dressed like a gorgeous princess, without a veil, so simple and stunning, the fruit of our love growing inside her belly. In that moment, everything was magical to my eyes. When she finally stepped forward, I shooke her father's hand.
-My one and only... She's now yours, with all my good wishes. –he said, touching my arm. I smiled at him, but I couldn't get my attention away from her. Soft make up in her face, her eyes sparkling, smiling at me. I held her hand and kissed her forehead softly.
-You look gorgeous, my queen... -I whispered in her ear. She smiled at me and blushed a little. My sweet Olivia.
-You too, big man. –she said, making me giggle softly. The music stopped and we started the ceremony. Everything went to well and fast. All the songs were played by a single violin and it made it so special. We kept holding hands until the moment we shared our wedding rings. My nephew, little Chris, walked to us with a soft and a small pillow in his hands. The two rings there, sparkling with the light. I grabbed Olivia's and gave a quick look to the inner part of the ring. «Richard» was written, along with the date of our wedding. I held the ring next to her finger and said exactly the same words as the priest.
-I, Richard, take you, Olivia, to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. –I said, sliding the ring on her finger. My hands shaking, my heart jumping. She smiled, crying at the same time. She took my ring and did exactly the same thing.
-I, Olivia, take you, Richard, to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. –She said, her voice trembling. I helped her put my ring on my finger and we both giggled.
-I now declare you husband and wife. You may kiss. –the priest said. He hasn't even had time to finish his sentence, when I grabbed her pale face and joined my lips with hers. Everyone clapped and cheered at us and I knew, in that moment, that I was the best man on earth. Not that I was the best writer, the best son, the best uncle or even the best friend. But because I had the best wife I could possibly ask for, I was already a better man. After the kiss came the rice and flowers flying in the air. Outside, we greeted everyone who came to see the ceremony. Once I caught Olivia, I held her in my arms again. She kissed the corner of my neck and looked at me.
-I have a surprise for you, my man. –she said. She pointed behind my back and I turned around. Two of her horses, Romeo and Matilda, all set for riding, but with special details on. On Romeo's tale, there was «Just» hanging in white sparkle paper and, to complete the sentence, there was «Married» hanging in Matilda's tale. Everyone loved that and I hugged Olivia in my arms again.
-Thank you, my queen! This is so cute, really! I love it! –I said, walking towards the horses and helping her climb Romeo. I climbed on Matilda's torso and we said goodbye to everyone, only for a little while. Me and my beautiful wife had a romantic horse riding in that beautiful venue, along the rivers and ponds, gardens and trees. Just me and her, followed by the photographer short minutes after. Everything about our day was magical. And it was only the beginning.
