(Olivia's POV)
First week of work was finally over and I and Richard would be doing something very important that Friday afternoon. He was being beyond lovely... He was my Sun and my stars and I was so blessed to have him by my side every day. A lot of women would want a man like him in their lives. We had an appointment at my usual doctor to make our first ultrasound of the baby. I was nervous. All the way to the hospital, inside the car, I was having flashbacks constantly. I saw that happening before, twice in my life. I look at my left and Richard was driving calmly, but for two seconds, I saw William. My heart skipped a beat and I tried to relax a bit.
-Are you ok, my love? –Richard asked, with that deep voice of his. I grabbed his hand that was resting on my leg and held it tight against mine.
-Just a little nervous... I've lived this before and I'm afraid. I won't rest until the doctor says that the baby is perfectly fine. –I said, looking at the view outside. Richard squeezed my hand, trying to make me comfortable.
-It's going to be ok, my love. I know it. Our baby is growing safe and healthy and, when he's born, he'll have your eyes, your hair, your kind heart... -he said, smiling between his words. I felt my heart warm with his feelings.
-Stop, you'll make me cry! –I said, laughing. Still looking at the road in front of him, he grabbed my hand and kissed it softly. -I love you, Richard. For the rest of my life, I love you. You don't know how much... -I said, looking at his profile face. He blushed and kept driving, with a gorgeous smile on his lips.
We made it to the hospital and the doctor was already waiting for us. We walked inside his room and I felt a shiver. That bed, those objects made especially for pregnant women... I hesitated a little, but my man smiled at me and grabbed my hand, giving me courage.
-Afternoon, Mrs. and Mr. Armitage. Please, sit! –the lady said, smiling at us. We sat in front of her and we started a nice conversation.
-Miss Olivia Rogers, it's nice to meet you! Before we start, I must say that I'm already aware of your situation, so I will spare you of telling your story all over again. –she said, smiling at me.
-Thank you, doctor. I don't like to talk about it. –I said, looking down at my hands.
-I perfectly understand, Miss Rogers. We share the same Past, you know? –she said, still smiling. I noticed, right away, what a strong woman she was. I looked at Richard and he was widened too. She got up and started to prepare everything for the ultrasound.
-Don't mind me, but... How do we share the same Past? You couldn't have children too? –I asked. She kept preparing everything, while speaking to me.
-Yes. I already had three abortions, when I was younger. After I finally had my fourth and only daughter, Marian, I decided that I wanted to work on this area. –she said. Her words touched my heart. Somehow, after what she said, I knew I couldn't be afraid anymore and I had to face everything with my chin up. Glad I had Richard with me, he made everything better. I finally laid down on the bed and she spread the green gel all over my lower abdomen. Richard followed her movements everywhere, he didn't want to lose a bit. Finally, we could see something on the little television above. Something unclear and distorted.
-The baby is in the perfect size for 1 month. I can also see your placenta is very thick, which is good, for someone who already had two abortions. Usually, the intrauterine walls become weaker with it, but yours are perfectly strong. –she explained, while running the white machine in my belly. Lovely flashbacks all over my head... I looked at Richard and he was looking intensely at the screen. I imaged what he was thinking.
-I guess this is it, for now. If anything happens, please call me, all right? But for now, you may come here for the third month, so we can see how the baby is doing and find out if it's a boy or a girl. –she said, cleaning my belly. I was happy that the baby was growing well, so did Richard. He couldn't help but smile all the time. Some short minutes after, we left the doctor and we were more than ready to go home.
-Are you happy? –I asked him, opening the front door for him.
-More than happy, my dear. –he said, kissing my forehead. We closed the door, threw our jackets and shoes away and we both jumped into the couch. He crawled over me and rested his head on my belly.
-I was nervous today, you know? I was afraid of what the doctor could've said about the baby... -I said, petting his dark hair slowly, running my fingers through it.
-I fully understand, Livy. And you might not say it, but I know you will be afraid until the end of this pregnancy, I know it. But hey. I'm here, you see? I will do everything I can, possible and impossible, to make things better whenever I can. –he said, lifting his head up and looking me in the eyes. His hands were wrapped around my waist and he lowered his head to kiss my belly. I felt tears in my eyes, tears of joy, love and happiness.
-You're a dream, Richard... I still can't believe I've met someone so incredible and kind as you... I still can't believe we are about to get married! –I said, making him laugh. He crawled over me again and came all the way up to my lips. I felt his sweet touch, those rosy lips rubbing against mine, like the first time we kissed. He made me feel so good and alive. I felt his warm hand lifting up my blouse and touching my belly, making me shivers all over my skin. He drew his kisses all over my neck and I closed my eyes. Nothing else mattered around, but we. I switched off my brain so I could only use my senses in that moment and enjoy every second of the pleasure he was giving to me. I quickly took his dark grey shirt off and he did the same with my clothes.
-This is where we first made love... -I whispered, scratching my nails in his back. He kissed my chest between my breasts, smiling between them.
-Do you want to do it all over again, Miss Rogers? –he asked, running his lips down my inner thighs, almost making me faint.
-Please, Mr. Armitage... -I whispered, letting my hands to his shoulders, while he climbed over me again.
-That's my woman. –he said, sweet as a kitten, but intense as a lion.
And here is another chapter, in my opinion, very sweet and loving! The next one, chapter 29, I will start with the preparations for the wedding and I can tell you this: Richard will be shopping the suit with his mommy! It will be funny, but emotional as well! I can't wait to finish the next one and publish.
NOTE: I hope you don't mind the fact that I'm using Olivia's POV in the latest chapters. It's just because I think it's easier for us to see how it's like to have Richard in our side! (Oh, I wish...) If there are any objections, please let me know :)
