Shit.

Soon after I saw the man on the edge of the forest I had taken a step onto the porch and he disappeared into the woods behind him. It was obvious that he was the man that did this which means that he knew or was the man who sent this wolf after the boys.

"So what do we do with the wolf pelt?" I asked. We definitely couldn't leave it here where the boys or anyone else could see it.

"I can call my dad. He'll be able to take care of it." Damien spoke up after a few seconds of silence. "Until then I think we should just keep the boys upstairs and most people don't even come here so we don't have to worry about anyone else seeing it."

"Yeah. That makes sense. I think I'll go check on the boys." Imani told us as he turned away from the sight in front of us and headed towards the stairs.

A pair of arms wrapped around me pulling me into a solid warm chest. Sighing loudly I tilted my head back to look up at Mateus who was smiling down at me softly. He was trying to assure me that everything would be alright even though I knew it wouldn't me.

I didn't ask for any of this yet here I was fighting to keep my family together already. Does this man really think that he can threaten me into giving over my shifter abilities? Even if that could work wouldn't Nyx just take it away again?

"What are you thinking about?" His deep voice asked.

"I'm thinking about how big a problem we're about to have." I sighed.

"Don't worry. We'll get through it." He reassured me with a smile that didn't quite do the trick.

"But you don't know that Mateus." I replied turning around in his arms to face him.

"As long as we stay together we'll be fine." The sincerity in his voice was what finally convinced me that he was right.

Nodding my head I buried my face into his chest breathing in his delightfully musky scent. It always seemed to calm me down. Not just him but all my mates did that to me. Thinking about when I met them a while back I would have never thought that I would have this sort of reaction to them.

"The boys are in our room watching T.V. with Damien." Imani told us as he walked up to us.

"So he called his dad already?" Mateus asked him.

"Yeah he said that his dad would take care of everything. There will be a pair of wolves over in a couple of hours to deal with it."

"I just can't believe that this is happening." I groaned.
