Aria POV
"P-Please, j-just g-give h-him t-to m-me," I pleaded desperately, trying to keep calm once more, but everything inside of me was raging.

"No!" she replied adamantly.

Hearing her tell me no made something snap inside of me. All I felt was my feet moving on their own, carrying me right toward her.

I reached toward her to snatch Ace from her arms. I was just inches away from grabbing him when suddenly, I heard the loud bang of a door being slammed open.

"LYDIA!" Caleb's voice rumbled throughout the entire house like thunder on a stormy day.

My entire body froze in place at his dominating voice.

I knew, the housekeeper knew, and even Lydia knew that things were about to get resolved or get much worse within seconds.

Ace's cries grew louder despite how loud the silence felt after Caleb yelled out her name. Lydia was so shocked by Caleb's tone that I took the opportunity to snatch Ace from her arms.

Ace grabbed onto me with his tiny hands, immediately calming down in my arms. "Shhh, m-mommy's h-here," I cooed to him while quickly walking away from Lydia so she couldn't grab him from me again.

I watched Caleb walk toward Lydia. He was furious. You could practically see the steam coming out of his ears from how pissed off he was.

Lydia subconsciously backed into the wall behind her as Caleb came closer to her. "Why are you here, Lydia?" he asked her in a very calm tone, yet you could feel the anger radiating off of him.

Aaron stood beside him, worried, knowing how quickly Caleb could snap and kill someone. "I came to see my grandson," Lydia replied with confidence, yet fear was written all over her face.

"I told you very clearly that you were no longer allowed in this house or near my wife or son until you learn how to respect and apologize to my wife," Caleb said frustratedly.

Lydia stayed silent.

"Did I, or did I not tell you that when you called me?" he asked her authoritatively, his frustration growing even more.

She stayed silent again, refusing to answer him.

"ANSWER ME!" he yelled, causing not only her but me and Ace to flinch.

"Quit yelling at me, boy!" she argued back, pushing past him to walk away.

Caleb grabbed her by the arm in one swift movement, slamming her back against the wall with a loud thud. She winced in pain, causing Aaron to quickly step between her and Caleb.

"Caleb, chill," Aaron said, full of concern for Lydia.

"Don't tell me to chill! She pushed my wife and kept my son away from her while he was crying. I told her to stay away."

"I fucking warned her about coming here unannounced!" Caleb explained angrily.

"I raised you! I have every right to see my grandson and come into this house whenever I please," Lydia argued over Aaron's shoulder as he stood between her and Caleb.

"That's not how things work around here, Lydia. Unless you respect my wife, you can come here as you please to see our son. But as long as you disrespect her..." He pointed at me.
