Tough love

Chapter 9

I spin in the air then the girl's catch me and let me in the ground. "Ok girls that's all for today remember to practice what you can and be ready for tonight's game." Mrs. Millers says. I stretch before I grab my things. I say bye to the girls before I walk out the door where Jack is supposed to be waiting for me but he isn't. I sigh understanding, he still hasn't gotten over losing his grandma and I'm not going to push him. I walk to my locker and I see Jack at his lock completely out of it. I walk up and I rest my head on his shoulder. He jumps a little before turning around and giving me a faint smile. "So how you doing?" I ask in a soft tone as he puts his stuff in his bag. "I could be better." He says with a sigh. I nod before I bend down and I unlock my lock and I get my things. Once I'm done we head to jack's car. We're quite the whole ride. Once we get to his house I walk up to him and pull him into a hug. He starts to cry so I stand there letting him cry into my shoulder. Once he's done I place a sweet kiss on his cheek. "Better?" I ask. He nods. I smile before changing because I didn't even bother changing at school. I sigh before I head go out to him back yard and practice our cheer routine for tonight.

After a few hours we head to the school. Jack walks off to the band and I head to the cheer group. I'm greeted by my friend Lany. Lany is a little crazy and by crazy I mean she's obsessed with Tom. "So how's Jack doing?" Lany asks. I sigh with a shrug. "He could be better but her still zones out." I say. She nods before we run off to join the join the group in practice. After an hour of practice we head to the front of the risers that's five feet above the field. Soon the band gathers into their section above the students that show a lot of spirit for our school and the other people like family and friends to the football players for band people show up. After an half hour the game finally starts. We cheer or Normal that I'm really tired of. "Edmond north your going down down down." We say. We've only played Edmond north a few time and we won once. The crowd cheers as we get another touchdown. Soon halftime comes and the band plays before we do a little dance routine. The crowd cheers as we run off the field. Once halftime is over me and lany go to get snacks followed by Chelsea and her group (the whole cheer squad other than me and lany) Chelsea's main friends are Molly, Kelly, and Britney. I run up to Jack who was about to take a break so he could eat. "Hey sweetie can I barrow some money?" I ask with a smile. Jack sighs and shakes his head. "Food." I say simply. "Fine but you better get me some nachos and a sprite." Jack says before handing me twenty bucks. "Thanks meet me on the hill." I say before skipping off.

After I get nachos and two sprites for me and Jack I head to the hill. I see him laying on my ground zoned out again. I shake my head as I walk up to him and sit. I poke him and he sits up and I hand him his food,drink, and money. "Thanks." He says with a half smile. I nod before I start to eat my nachos. After a few minutes of talking and eating we head back to out places. The game goes by fast and we lost with the score at '19:14'. I wait as he gets every put up and we walk to his car hand in hand. It doesn't take long to get home and I go straight to be tired and I fall into a dreamless sleep.
