We arrive at the vet after a twenty minutes ride and Jack takes the puppy out and I follow him in. When we walk in a little bell rings and a women walks up to the counter. "How may I help you today?" She asks smiling a little. Jack raises his arms and shows her the puppy. "My girlfriend found this little guy at the grave yard hurt." Jack says. She nods and walks around the counter and takes the puppy carefully. "Follow me." She says and we follow her back into a room and she sets the puppy down on the table in ten middle of the room. She tells us a doctor will be her in a few minutes before walking out. I feel my phone buzzy and I answer. "Yo." Is all I say. "Hey mom just got done with her first surgery." Marks voice comes through. "Really how is she?" Concern coming over me. "I don't know she's asleep right now but I'll call or text you when she wakes up." I sigh. "Ok bye." "Bye" I hang up and set my phone down and I let out a huff. Jack slowly wraps his arm around me and I let him. He pulls me in a little because we're not that far apart and he gently rubs my shoulder helping me relax.
I smile a little feeling a little better. "Everything is going to be alright." He says taking his other hand and putting it on my leg. I nod a little and I look at him giving his a small smile. "There's the smile I'm looking for." He says tickling my neck a little making me giggle and scrunch up my neck. He flicks his hand back and shakes it. "Owe!" He says rubbing his hand a little. Just as I shake my head the door opens and the doctor walks in. He walks over to the puppy not saying a word and starts to look over the puppy. When he's done he looks at us. "He has a broken leg but we can fix it." He starts off. I give a small sigh a relief. "Do you own this puppy?" me asks. I shake my head. "Found him a t the grave yard." The doctor nods. "Well if you want you could sign same papers and adopt him so while he's getting better he'll have a place to stay."
I look at Jack and he nods. "Yeah why not." I say with a smile. "Great just let me takes this guy out back so they can get him fixed up and I'll get the papers." He says grabbing the puppy and walking out. "So what you gonna name him?" Jack ask as we stand. I think for a second then I comes to mind. "Lucky." I say, Jack nods a little. "I like it." I smile again and we walk out. When we get to the counter were handed some papers to fill out. After I fill them out we wait for them to bring Lucky up, which only takes about ten minutes. They had given him a white cast and a blue color, no tag. We thank them after paying and we walk out to jacks car. I sit down and set the puppy in my lap then my phone rings.
I sigh picking it up. "Yo." "Hey mom just woke up but she's not felling good enough to have visitors so I'm on my way home." My smile fades. "Ok see you then, oh also I have a surprise." "What is it?" He questions. "You'll just have to see." I say before hanging up without giving his a chance to say bye. I put my phone back and I look down at lucky who is asleep and I smile softly at him as I pet him gently.
Jack's P.O.V.
As we drive to Sarah's house I watch out of the corner of my eye Sarah pet lucky while smiling a little. I think this puppy is just what she needed, and I like the name the little guy is lucky to be alive. When we arrive Mark was parking his car. He got out and waited. I got out and I rushed to the other side of my car to help Sarah out. When she gets out Mark gasps. "What a puppy!" He said walking over. "Yep found him when I went for a walk, I went to the grave yard to say hi to dad and Brayden." She says. "We took him to the vet to see if they could fix him and sure enough." Mark smiles and let's lucky sniff his hand. "What's his name?" Mark asks. "Lucky." He nods petting him gently then his phone rings.
He shakes his head and picks it up. "Hey sweetie... Your what!... When did this happen?... You found out today.... Wait what?... (His voice starts to become sad) Your... (Then turns to anger) Fine I don't want you anyway!... Fine come get your things as soon as you can!...." He shakes his head walks over to a tree and punches it. "Bro?" I ask. "She doesn't want me! No she doesn't want to be part of a family that is like ours and she's pregnant also! I can't believe this. (He looks at Sarah) it's your fault. It's your fault she left me, she doesn't like you and it doesn't help that you dont like her also." He says walking over to Sarah. My protective instinct kicks In and I stand in front of her. "Dude leave her out of this!" He spit. Mark sighs a little calming down and getting his head back together. "Ok yeah you right, sorry I didn't mean it you know how I am when I loose my temper Sarah." Mark apologizes. "Yeah I know, it's ok." I hear Sarah's sweet voice and she nudges me to move. I move and she walks to the house.
