Chapter 51

It's been only a few days since Christmas and New Years is creeping up the corner. Me and Jack have been spending the last few days at my house just to spend time with family but tonight we decided to go back to Jack's apartment. I just filled both me and Jack a glass of Hot chocolate from the hot chocolate maker I got for Christmas. I set the hot mugs on the coffee table and I head back to the kitchen and got some mini marshmallows and put a hand full in both. I curled up next to Jack on the couch as we watch courageous. One the movie is over I go straight to bed and to sleep.

I walk around my house everything is a blur. I turn around as I hear a sound fear rushing through me then something jumps and me as everything starts to shake!

I wake up to everything shaking Jack holding me tightly as it stops. It felt like a minute but it was only a few seconds. I feel a few tears slip but they're from fear, and I'm clinging to the blanket. "Sarah are you ok?" Jack asks moving me so I'm look at him With the light from the bathroom. "What happened?" I ask starting to calm down. "Earthquake." I nod. "Well I was starting a nightmare." I groan. Jack shakes his head then jumps out of bed and head to the living room. I get up to after glancing at the clock 5:43am.

Jack had turned the tv on and was watching the news wait to hear about the earthquake and about fifteen minutes later the after shock rocks in and a small squeal escapes my lips. Jack with his arm around me, circles on my arm with his thumb helping me calm. Soon the news of the earthquake came on and it was a 4.3! That's big for Oklahoma. He turn the TV off and gives out a sigh. "You should get back to sleep." He says giving me a small hug. "What about you?" I ask. "I don't know I think I'm going to stay but maybe go to the gym. I do need to go to work in. A few hours." Wait what he has a job? "When did you get a job?" I ask. "Yesterday, sorry I didn't tell you I forgot." I nod to tired to bicker with him.

I give out a yawn and he gets up picking me up in the process and he lays me on the couch before grabbing a pillow and a blanket. I'm half asleep when he kisses my head and heads out of the house.

Today is New Year's Eve! I can't wait for the new year and to make time past me, Jack, Leah, and tom are going ice skating. It is so cold and I have to wear one of Jack's coats because I don't have a heavy coat anymore, it got torn up by my dog. This ice rink is smaller then when Jack went to the band thing. The whole time both of us are looking out for each other. "Jack don't fall and hurt yourself again." I say as he slips. "I'll try but don't fall and hurt yourself ether." I shake my head and I start to skate slowly along the edge and tom glides by me and grabs my hand in the process. "Tom what are you doing?" I ask finally get my balance. "Helping you skate." He says then stops and I just fall to the ground my glasses almost falling off.

Jack skates over and helps me up. "It's getting colder we should head back plus it's getting late. We both now. Once we're out of our skates we head to my grandma's. We waist time by playing card and having fun and before we know it the ball for the count down is going up. "5...4...3...2..1..." Everyone chants. "Happy new year." Everyone says but me. Me being silly I just pop a popper and I say. "Merry Christmas!" Everyone shakes their head. Jack walks over and wraps his arms around me. "Happy new year." He says before crushing our lips together.

I can already tell this is going to be an amazing year.

*btw the nightmare and waking up to a huge earthquake is true for me and I was scared! And I'm sorry for updating this like six days after New Years.*
