House Cat [Neko!Levi x Eren, Attack on Titan]

Chapter I

Here is the first chapter, I hope you enjoy it. I will most likely update once or twice a week. The chapters will be on the long side so probably once. Anyway have a nice read. *AoT salute*

Eren had just graduated with an art major and was living in his own apartment. Shiganshina was a decent sized city, with enough inspiration for the young artist. Most of the people he knew lived there so to him it was perfect. His art sold pretty well online and he had a part time job at a local pottery shop. Life had pretty much calmed done as he adjusted to a new kind of normal. That is, until one day an old friend came to visit.

He had just got back from work and fell onto his couch. After letting out a deep sigh, Eren checked his phone to see a text from Hanji. He met Hanji in college through a mutual friend and for some reason they stayed in touch.

Hanji: Hey I'm coming over around 5! Be decent!

Eren rolled his eyes and smiled. That was Hanji for you. Eren wondered what she was up to. Knowing her it probably wasn't anything good. He looked at the time, it was about three. Reluctantly he got up and decided to clean up a bit before she came over. By the time he was finished it was nearly five and he wondered if he should prepare something to eat for the both of them. The doorbell ringing broke his thoughts.

"Sup' my little responsible living on own boy!" Hanji said after Eren let her in, giving him a giant bear hug.

"Just great thanks Hanji, how have you been?" He inquired, trying not to suffocate.

"Fantastic of course!"

Once she let him go, Eren noticed someone standing behind his friend. He saw two cat ears poking out over his friends shoulders. He looked behind her to see a jet black haired Neko. He was leaned up against the door frame, even then he was still noticeably short. Although Neko's generally tended to be on the short side, he had a sleek black tail that complimented his undercut.

Along with that he had beautiful grey eyes that contained a hint of silver. He had a bored look on his face and was staring off into space not paying attention to the interaction of Eren and Hanji.

"So how's life living on your own?" Hanji asked with a mischievous look in her eye as she looked between Eren and the Neko.

"Oh it's been cool, I've been liking it so far."

Eren looked back to the Neko and he was staring at him. Eren was not sure how to react so he just kind of stood there.

"That's great! Oh and this is Levi, don't mind him he tends to not like new people, or people in general for that matter. And Levi this is Eren, the friend I was telling you about!" Hanji said breaking the unexpected staring contest.

"Obviously, four-eyes," Levi said, followed by a "tch" noise looking away again, this time studying the room.

"Um, come on in I guess can I get you guys something to eat or drink," Eren said motioning for them to come inside.

"Thanks buddy, I'll have water and Levi'll have milk," she said skipping inside with Levi following slowly behind.

"Glasses I've told you before just because I'm part cat doesn't mean I automatically love milk and I'll have tea if you have it," Levi stated, glaring at Hanji.

Hanji cackled and jumped on one of the kitchen stools. Eren smiled, shook his head slightly and started water for tea and got Hanji her water.

"So Hanji what's up, I mean not that I dislike having you over but this was kinda spontaneous," Eren asked.

"Oh yes of course," she said taking a big gulp of water. " I have a proposition for you,"

"A proposition?"

"Yup, you see Levi here has been looking for an owner and Erwin and I have been looking after him but we kinda annoy him and Neko's prefer a more consistent and stable arrangement. So I thought maybe you could let him hang out here for at least a week, you guys can get to know each other."

Eren was surprised by this request and looked over at Levi, who was still looking around the room with a blank expression on his face. Eren hadn't thought about having a Neko, he made enough money for him to live comfortably on his own and he didn't know if he could support two people. He knew some Neko's were more high maintenance than others but just taking a week to get to know the Neko wouldn't be too bad. Plus Eren was already intrigued by him.

After thinking it over he responded, "Sure that sounds fine, how do you feel about this arrangement Levi?"

Levi looked at Eren when he said his name. His eyes seemed to burn into Eren's soul.

"Fine, whatever," he said shrugging and looking away.

"Excellent!" Hanji said with excitement accidentally knocking over her water.

Eren got a towel to clean it up and as he was cleaning he felt as though Levi was watching him from behind. After cleaning up the mess, Levi's tea was ready and when he handed it to him Levi looked at him but didn't say anything as he took the tea.

"Sorry about that Eren I just get excited!" Hanji apologized grinning.

"No problem it's fine," Eren responded breaking eye contact with Levi.

"Well I'm gonna leave you kids to yourselves. Eren make sure you feed him otherwise he gets grumpy and Levi don't kill anyone," she said heading for the door.

"You're leaving so soon?" Eren asked.

"Yes I got to get back to the lab, my assistant has been going insane cuz I keep leaving at random times but it's totally fine," she said opening the door.

"See you guys!" Then she shut the door with a loud thud.

Eren took a second to comprehend what had just happened. He then looked back at Levi who still staring at him.

This should be interesting, he thought.
