Please read: Okay so this chapter is written in a different style, it's... more poetic I guess. I don't know the last book we read in English really messed with my head. I just wanted to try out a new writing style.

It may be hard to understand or just boring so if you want to just skip to the last two paragraphs because they are the most important. Or just read the comments. Despite anything I am proud with how it turned out so I hope you enjoy.

The Neko was soundly asleep and woke to the feeling of warm sunlight on his pale skin. His eyes slowly opened and he slowly made the transition from a quiet dream state to one more aware of his surroundings. He yawned and stretched himself in a manner similar to that of a cat. The Neko stood up and walk over to the window.

There was a small balcony that was connected to the apartment, it was small and the only view it provided was that of a brown brick building on the other side. There was another balcony above that one but even though it blocked much of the light from reaching the apartment in question, but some still managed to get through. The black haired Neko walked out onto the platform.

It had been raining earlier that morning, but while he had been asleep the clouds had broken. He leaned back on the railing and stared up at the sky. He stayed like this lost in thought, he thought back on when he first came and then how much time had passed. The weeks had grown into months and now almost two years had passed. His thoughts broke when drops of water fell from the wet balcony above onto his face. He wiped off the water with his hand and reluctantly returned inside.

The house was warm and partially filled with sunlight and contained familiar surroundings. He walked slowly around the room, running his fingers along the furniture. Memories and nostalgia hit him as he recalled fond memories that had been made in that place. He eventually moved to another room that was also ruled by sunlight from an independent window and it cast the light to the various objects the room possessed. But especially the two key focal points: the easel and the piano. Both representing their owner's separate talents as well as joining the two in a combined love for art.

He walked along the hallway, his sleek black tail trailing close behind him. He stopped at a more vacant room, one kept clean and rarely ever used. But when he looked to left, there hung a painting that had been given to him by the other resident of the home not long before. It symbolized to him everything that that same person had done for him. He was free now because of the other. He slowly closed the door and moved on.

The final room held a strange familiarity that he had never thought he would feel. It was not his but it was starting to feel as though he shared it with it's true possessor. He walked back out into the the main part of the apartment. Just then, the door opened and a young man of about the same age as the Neko walked through. They greeted each other and the new arrival gave him a kiss on the cheek. The lively brunette left to return his items to his room and then returned to his companion. The young man held his lover as they stood together in the sunlight.

Later that evening the Neko found himself on the balcony once again, the night was not particularly cold. He leaned himself back and looked up at the clear sky. Not many stars were visible due to pollutants but the one or two that the Neko could see did something to pierce the darkness of the night sky.

He heard the door open but continued to stare upwards. His friend joined him and they both looked up together consumed in their own separate thoughts but both had a feeling of regard toward the other's company. The brunette looked over at the his boyfriend and smiled. He took the hand of his lover and the Neko looked over at him.

After a couple of seconds the human boy opened his mouth to speak to his Neko. He conveyed feelings of love and gratitude that had accumulated through their time together. He expressed his desire to always be the one who's hand the other held. He did not feel the need to say too much and after he finished he guided the hand of his lover so that they were facing each other.

The smiling brunette got down on one knee. He asked the Neko a question that the other had never expected to ever be asked. After the black haired Neko overcame his shock he answered the other young man. And for the first time in a long while, the Neko smiled a full and real smile at the other man who he had just committed to spend the rest his life with. They embraced each other and neither them wanted to let go, and they would never need to.
