House Cat [Neko!Levi x Eren, Attack on Titan]

Chapter XXI

Levi knocked on the door of the art room, then let himself in. Eren had only been painting for a half hour but he already had paint all over his hands and lower arms. He was consumed by his work and didn't notice Levi enter the room. Eren stared intently at the canvas and painted with a dedicated passion, Levi admired this trait in him. He watched Eren paint for a couple minutes until he noticed some paint on the side of Eren's face. It started to bother him, so he went and got a damp towel. He came back and touched it to Eren's cheek.

"What the...?!" Eren flipped out and nearly fell off his chair, luckily he didn't spill any paint.

"You have paint on your face," Levi said expressionless.

"Geez Levi, warn me next time," Eren said regaining his wits, not actually mad, just a little shook up.

"I figured you were distracted enough that you wouldn't have noticed."

Eren thought about this. "That's probably true sometimes," Eren said with a grin.

Levi finished wiping off the paint from Eren's face. Once finished, Eren thanked him, looked back at his painting and sighed.

"I'm not in the mood anymore," he looked over at Levi. "What do you want to do?"

Levi shrugged in response. Eren thought about what they could possibly do.

"Why don't we try that chocolate cheesecake recipe Hanji gave us," Eren suggested.

Levi considered it and said. "We will probably have to go buy some of the ingredients."

"That's fine, it will be part of the adventure," Eren said cheerfully.

"I think you're making it more exciting than it actually is."

"Why not? I think if you treat everyday as a special experience, then you get more out of it."

"That is very optimistic of you."

"I'll take that as a compliment," Eren said grinning.

Levi rolled his eyes and they both left to the kitchen. Levi got out the recipe and they made a list of things they didn't already had. When they went to the grocery store, Levi repeatedly had to keep Eren from buying more than they needed. He didn't understand how Eren was able to function before he came, but it equaled out in the fact that Eren had to literally drag Levi out of the cleaning isle.

When they got back to the apartment complex they ran into Mikasa, one of the Neko's that lived with Annie. Eren gave her a hug, as he did everyone. She and Levi merely stared at each other. Eren was a little bit scared by the obvious tension between the two and did his best to prevent them from trying to kill each other.

"So Mikasa, how are you?" He asked nervously.

"I'm fine, thank you Eren," Mikasa responded, maintaining a glare at Levi.um

"That's good," Eren said awkwardly.

"Why do you smell like him?" Mikasa asked in a monotone voice.

"Um, what do you mean."

"You have his scent on you."

"We live together," Eren was really confused at this point.

Eren looked to Levi for help and he just smirked at Eren. Mikasa had to leave so they said goodbye and Eren and Levi returned to their apartment. They began working on the cheesecake.

"Levi, when did we get a springform pan?" Eren asked.

"We've always had one," Levi responded.

"Really?"
