Chapter XXIII

"Mr. Kitty!" Mina Carolina squealed running towards Levi.

Levi was in the process of carrying grocery bags to his apartment.

"Here, let me help," Hannah said following behind her daughter.

She took one of the bags allowing Levi to get out his key and open the door.

"Thank you," he said and put the bags down on the counter.

Mina ran into the apartment, her mothered tried to stop her but Levi said he was okay with it. Levi put away the groceries as Mina wondered around studying everything.

"It's so clean!" She observed, fascinated.

Hannah chuckled and Levi her gave a small smile.

"Oh yeah, Mr, Kitty likes clean things," Mina told her mom.

"That's nice sweetie, it's time for us to go home now, you need to take a bath," Hannah said.

"Awe but I don't wanna!" Mina whined looking at Levi.

"Mina..." Her mother warned.

Levi walked over to Mina and crouched to her level. "Baths are very important you should listen to your mother."

Mina considered this and reluctantly gave in. "Okay Mr. Kitty."

She hugged him and ran out the door. Hannah sighed and thanked Levi. Just as Hannah got to the door, Mina poked her head around and said.

"If you see my titan can you give him back to me?" She asked.

"What?" Levi was confused.

"Thank you Mr. Kitty!" She squealed and ran off again.

"What is a titan?" Levi asked Hannah.

"Oh, one of her stuffed animal, doll things. She lost it this morning, she probably misplaced it. I don't know why she likes it so much, personally I think it's terrifying but according to her it protects her from the other titans."

"I'll keep an eye out for it."

"Thank you so much."

Levi nodded in response and Hannah left to find her daughter. Levi finished taking care of the groceries and then he sighed and looked around the room. He didn't have anything else planned until the evening, Eren was at work and he had read all his library books but he had already gone out once that day and didn't feel like going out again. Levi decided he had nothing better to do and decided to search for Mina's missing doll.

He started by going to the Springer's apartment, Krista was home and when she answered to door and smiled sweetly at him.

"Hello Levi, what brings you here?"

"Who is it?" He heard a female voice from inside the house.

Ymir appeared behind Krista and looked at Levi skeptically. Levi disregarded this since that was how Ymir always was.

"I am helping Mina find her titan doll," he explained.

"Oh, she loves that doll. I'm sorry, I haven't seen it. Ymir have you?" Krista asked looking up at Ymir.

"No," Ymir responded simply.

Krista looked apologetically at Levi. "I'm sorry we couldn't be helpful, do you need help searching?"

"No, it's fine thank you for your time," he said politely.

"Okay, bye Levi," Krista said smiling at him.

Ymir nodded at him and Levi nodded back. He put up his hand as a wave goodbye as Krista closed the door. Levi thought about what to do next, he decided on seeing if Marco or Jean was home, but they were not there. He reluctantly went to the last door. He knocked on the door and a black haired Neko with a red scarf opened it.
Mikasa looked surprised to see Levi but soon went back to a blank stare.
