Chapter XXXV

"I think it could be fun, please I don't want to go alone," Eren begged.

Levi frowned, Eren had been asked by some rich guy to paint a portrait of him, the thing was he lived in another city that was eight hours away and they would stay at the guy's house. Levi wasn't overly fond of traveling but Eren really wanted him to go.

"It's perfectly fine if you don't want to though," Eren said seeing that Levi was uncomfortable.

"No, I..." Levi stopped.

Eren took Levi's hand and held it tightly. "It's fine, anyway..."

Levi looked at him intently, wondering what he was going to say.

"This could be good actually," Eren contemplated.

"What do you mean?" Levi asked.

"Spending some time apart might be helpful, like an experiment. If we miss each other then that will mean we love each other," Eren said with a goofy grin.

Levi rolled his eyes. "You are a child."

Eren laughed and ruffled Levi's hair a little. "Yeah."

They sat there in silence for a minute and then Eren spoke up again. "I'm going to miss you," he pulled Levi into a hug.

"It's not like you're going to be gone that long," Levi said shaking his head at his sentimental boyfriend.

"I know but still..."

"How long will you be gone?" Levi asked as he adjusted himself to sit on Eren's lap.

"A week I think, he is probably going to want good quality and he did mention that he will only have a little time out his day for it," Eren responded as he began to pet Levi.

That was longer than Levi thought it was going to be but he was still fine with Eren going, but he felt a bit guilty.

"I'm sorry," he said quietly.

"What?" Eren asked.

"I wish I could go with you like you want, I'm just uncomfortable with going somewhere that, I guess, that I'm unfamiliar with-," Levi hesitated feeling uncomfortable.

"I understand, maybe next time we can go on a real vacation, just the two of us," Eren kissed Levi's head.

Levi felt somewhat releived by this. "That would be nice," he responded.

Three days later Eren was preparing to leave. As he finally finished packing with Levi's help he was ready to go. They stood by the door and Eren hugged Levi tightly.

"Make sure you stay safe, and don't just eat junk food the whole time," Levi told him.

"Yes dear," Eren said sarcastically.

Levi rolled his eyes and Eren smiled giving the Neko a quick kiss. Levi gave him a glare and Eren was confused.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Was that your goodbye kiss, really?" Levi crossed his arms.

A grin formed across Eren's face and he uncrossed Levi's arms and kissed him for real this time. Levi who normally let Eren have control, this time kissed him passionately. Eren tried to keep himself from giggling due to the cuteness of the Neko. They pulled away after a minute and they kind of just looked at each other.

"I should probably get going so I get there on time," Eren said picking up his stuff.

Levi nodded. "Okay."
