"Good morning Lev-," he stopped and his eyes widened in fear.

Levi had his back against the fridge and across the kitchen was a large man with a gun pointed at Levi. In his other hand he had small switchblade that he was clutching tightly. The man disregarded Eren while staring down Levi, Levi himself remained expressionless despite there being a gun pointed at him.

"Eren, stay back," Levi told him without breaking eye contact with the man.

Eren wanted to say something but he didn't want to risk Levi getting hurt.

"Tell me where the money is you good-for-nothing cat!" The guy demanded.

"I told you, I don't know where it is," Levi said, firmly.

"Oh please, we all know she told you everything."

"Well then you all are bigger idiots than I thought."

This made the guy even more angry. He angrily walked up to Levi and pinned Levi's neck against the fridge door with his arm. He pressed the knife up against Levi's neck.

"Levi!" Eren called out, distressed.

"Shut up," the intruder yelled, pointing the gun at Eren.

He looked back at Levi and snarled.

"Tell me where the money is you little piece of..."

With the guy not looking at him, Eren took the opportunity to grab the gun from the thug's hand. In that moment of confusion, Levi pushed the intruder away and kicked him in the chest. Eren pointed the gun at the guy and yelled,

"Stop!"

The guy was clutched over in pain and looked up at Eren, glaring. Eren's hands were shaking while holding the gun and the guy moved towards him. Before he could do anything Levi expertly hit him over the back of the head, knocking him out. Eren then remembered to breath and the gun dropped to the floor. He ran to Levi and grabbed his wrists.

"Are you okay?" He asked Levi urgently.

"Yes," Levi said calmly.

Eren let out a sigh of relief. He then saw a slight slit on side of Levi's neck, only a little bit of blood but Eren was concerned all the same. He reached his hand up and hovered near the cut.

"Oh Levi I'm so sorry," he apologized.

"It's not you're fault," Levi responded, looking down at the unconscious thug.

"C'mon, let's get you bandaged up," Eren said tugging at Levi.

Levi stopped him and said, "Go and get the officer outside the apartment, there's no telling how long this guy is going to stay passed out, I'll tie him up just in case."

"But..."

"I'm fine, go."

Eren reluctantly left and found the not-so-discrete cop car. Meanwhile Levi called Detective Nanaba. A few minutes later there were several police cars in front of the apartment. After taking the man into custody, Detective Nanaba debriefed them while Eren bandaged up Levi's cut. He let them be after taking their statements.

"We'll inform your landlord and neighbors of what happened so you don't have to go through the effort of explaining everything that happened repeatedly. Again I am sorry that this happened in the first place, the officer assigned to watch you neglected to put surveillance near the fire escape. He will definitely be reprimanded for it," Detective Nanaba informed the two boys.

"Okay, thank you Detective?" Eren said.

"Thank you both," Detective Nanaba thanked them and left.

Eren sighed heavily and leaned back in his chair. He looked over at Levi, who appeared to be staring off into space. He looked at the bandage on Levi's neck and immediately felt sad and thought, what would have happened if he had gotten hurt worse? Or if he had died? Eren cringed at the thought. Levi sensed his discomfort and waved his hand in front of Eren's face.

"Are you okay?" He asked Eren.

"Oh... yeah, I'm good," Eren said snapping out of his daze.

Levi didn't press him, he had more experience handling these emotions than Eren. Since he had been used to things like that from them happening in his past.

They eventually migrated to the couch. Eren turned on the tv while Levi curled on top of his chest. After an episode, Eren just let the credits run until it was over and didn't start a new one. He was once again lost in thought.

Levi looked up at him. "Eren."

"Hmm? Oh, sorry."

"I'm sorry."

Eren looked at him confused. "What?"

"I should have never let you get involved. He wouldn't have killed me until he got the information he needed. He had no reason not to kill you, so you were the one who was at risk."

Eren gave him a small smile, he set his hand on Levi's head. Levi looked up at him.

"Hey, like I told you before, you don't have to worry about me. Honestly I've been more worried about you. I was scared and probably wouldn't have been able to shoot that guy," Eren's face now had a look of guilt. "I just can't help but think about what could have happened. What would do if you had... Yeah know. I don't what I would do without you to be honest."

Levi's eyes widened in surprise. Eren had been worried about him this entire time and for that reason? He didn't know what to think or say. He felt... loved, in a way.

"It's fine, you have never been in that kind of a situation."

"I know, but still..."

"Nothing happened, we're both alive and safe now and that's what matters ."

This seemed to comfort Eren and Levi then snuggled closer into Eren's chest. Eren smiled at him and started petting his head and moved down and rubbed his back. Despite the stressful events of the morning, they both felt very relaxed and content in each other's company.
