Chapter VIII

"Come on Levi just leave it, we need to leave now or we're going to be more late than we already are!" Eren called, urgently.

Erwin had invited them to his house for dinner and they had made dessert and Levi was refusing to leave until the kitchen was totally clean.

"If I have to survive Hanji for an evening I'm at least going to have the clear conscience that the kitchen is clean," Levi grumbled aggressively wiping down the counter.

Eren knew the Neko wouldn't leave until the the entire kitchen was sterile. So he reluctantly started to help him. They eventually got it done to Levi's absolute minimal standard and made it to the car and were on their way

"So the only other people are Armin, Hanji and who else?" Eren asked.

"Apparently Hanji is bringing her partner, I am actually curious to see what kind of person would actually date her," Levi responded looking out the window.

"Male or female?"

"No idea a lot of what she says I just tune out."

"Ah," Eren thought for a second. "Bet you dinner for the next week they're female."

Levi looked at him. "Your on."

After a few minutes Eren scrunched up his face in confusion. Levi noticed this.

"What?"

"Oh, I was just wondering what is Hanji's gender exactly?"

"Heck if I know."

"You lived with her for almost an entire year!"

"Again white noise."

"Your so mean."

"Tch"

They eventually got to Erwin's and were only fifteen minutes late to Eren's surprise. Armin was already there but Eren didn't see Hanji. After giving his friend a hug he asked,

"Where's Hanji?"

"Oh she's showing Mike around you guys can sit down I'm going to go help Erwin bring out the food," Armin said, taking the dessert from Eren and rushing into the kitchen.

He smiled after his friend then he heard a loud screech from behind him and Levi.

"Eren and Leviiiiii!" Hanji squealed then glomped Eren.

After getting up she attempted to hug Levi but he ran and hid behind a couch.

"Stay away you psycho," he said hissing under his breath.

Hanji cackled and smiled goofily at her two younger friends. Just then Eren noticed a figure waking up behind Hanji. He saw a tall, blonde, well built man with a slight mustache and beard. Eren looked over at Levi who was smirking at him, he wasn't that upset over losing the bet, it was just that this guy looked... well, normal.

"Hey guys this is Mike! Mike this is Eren and the little Neko over there is Levi!" Hanji introduced them.

"I'm not little," Levi grumbled, but Hanji payed no attention.

Mike walked up to Eren and shook his hand They exchanged a "it's nice to meet you" and then to Eren shock Mike started to sniff him!

"Hmm," Mike said contently after a couple seconds.

"What the..." Eren said as Mike moved past him and casually walked towards Levi.

"That's just something he does," Hanji said the Eren with a grin.

Mike approached Levi but Levi made it obvious he didn't want anything to do with this man. He looked over at Eren for help but Eren just gave him an encouraging smile. Eventually Levi gave in just making sure the strange man didn't come too close.
