Chapter XXX

A/N: I do not own the song used in this chapter, also I reference LeeandLie's lullaby version so credit to her and her brilliance. Also of slightly more importance, up to this point I have tried and failed to keep track of time in this story. It's not overly important and I'll probably specify an exact amount later but for now I hope you can pardon my laziness.

It was a week until Eren's birthday and Levi wanted to do something special for him. Their relationship had been going well, he trusted Eren almost completely and Eren was beyond good to him. They were perfectly comfortable in each other's company and hardly other fought and when they did it was never anything serious.
Levi felt the need to find something to show Eren how much he appreciated everything Eren had done but he was at a loss for what to do. So as a last resort he met with Hanji and Erwin at the library's café.

"So guys, how's life?" Hanji said sitting down next to next to Erwin and Levi.

"Tone it down we're in a library," Levi said gruffly.

"Very well Hanji, thank you," Erwin responded smiling at her.

They started chatting back and forth, Levi contributed a little to the conversation. After a few minutes Hanji turned to Levi with a big smile on her face.

"So, why did Levi Ackerman, the most introverted Neko in existence, seek the company of other life forms?"

Levi glared at her, "I'm not introverted, I just don't like people."

Hanji laughed at this and then Erwin spoke up. "Isn't it Eren's birthday on the thirtieth?"

Levi nodded and Hanji squealed. "Oh my gosh, you want our help. Wait! I thought you thought birthdays are stupid, that means you care that much about Eren!"

Levi grimaced and put his hand on his forehead.

"Would you like our advice, Levi?" Erwin asked kindly.

"That is why I'm here," Levi said looking up, still mildly irritated.

"Ooh I know! You could take him to the beach again he loves the beach, or maybe you could paint him something, can you learn how to paint in seven days or..." She kept going on and on.

Eventually Erwin stopped her and she settled down. Levi was still at a loss for what to do and Erwin started running more doable ideas by him and they managed to come up with a plan.

"Thanks for the help," he said to Erwin.

"You're welcome," Erwin said to his friend.

"Ooh I got another idea!" Hanji chimed in, excitedly.

"What?" Levi said frowning at her.

"You could... you know," she wiggled her eyebrows.

Levi looked at her confused then his eyes widened as he realized. "Hanji!"

"What?" She asked, feigning innocence.

"Why the heck would you suggest that?" Levi raised his voice.

Hanji giggled uncontrollably as Levi glared at her, face red. Once she calmed down she spoke again.

"It's not like I don't know you guys have been together."

Levi looked at Erwin, who just shrugged. He didn't tell Hanji and there was no telling how long she had known. He sighed and got up to leave, he said goodbye and unsuccessfully tried to escape a hug from Hanji.

On Eren's birthday, Petra was kind enough to give him the day off so when he woke up to the lovely thought that he did not have to get out of bed. He looked to his right to see Levi curled up beside him. He smiled and began to pet him gently, which caused Levi to purr in his sleep. Eren pulled out his phone with his other hand to see numerous texts.
