House Cat [Neko!Levi x Eren, Attack on Titan]

Chapter XVIII

"Hey Levi?" Eren asked.

"Yes?"

"... Can I kiss you?"

Levi stared at him in shock. Eren continued to look at him lovingly, waiting for an answer. Levi could feel himself losing control and without being able to put much thought into it, he suddenly blurted out,

"Sure."

This made Eren's smile widen and although Levi was nervous and uncomfortable he didn't shy away. Eren gently took Levi's chin and leaned in and kissed him softly. Levi once again surprised himself by kissing back. The kiss only lasted for a few seconds and afterwards both boys were blushing, unsure of what to do next.

Levi snapped out of his shock and tried to move away but Eren stopped him. He grabbed Levi's hands and held them gently.

"I need to explain. Levi, I have never really cared that strongly about someone, yeah I've dated people but I've never truly loved someone in that way. I have friends and family who I love dearly but with you it's always been different. We haven't known each other that long but I feel like I've known you forever and I can't imagine my life without you," Eren paused to take in a deep breath.

"I realize a romantic relationship between an owner and their Neko is weird but I feel like we could work it out. And it's totally cool if you don't feel the same way but I care about you Levi. I'm... pretty sure I love you."

Levi once again did not know what to say. It took everything he had just to process what Eren was saying. He knew he also felt that Eren was different, but to be in a relationship with him? Was that something he wanted? Aside from kissing, would it be that different than how they were now? He had to admit he didn't exactly hate the kiss. Before he could say anything Eren spoke up again.

"You don't have to answer now, I can wait and I want you to be sure," Eren said kindly.

He let go of Levi's hands and turned the tv back on. They resumed their former position despite of the events that had just occurred. Except this time Levi's thoughts were consumed by questions on how he felt, which was one of the only things he didn't know how to deal with. And this time as Eren ran his fingers though his hair, Levi couldn't help but notice that he felt something. A warm feeling. A feeling that made him never want to leave.

Levi avoided Eren for the next week.
He knew that avoiding your problems does nothing to solve them and the extreme lengths he went to didn't help. He made sure he wasn't in the same room as Eren whenever possible. He went to the library almost everyday to be alone with his thoughts. He didn't mind the solitude, in fact he usually preferred it. But in perfect honesty though, he missed Eren.

On one of his many trips to the library he ran into Erwin. Who treated him to coffee at the library's café.

"So Levi, Armin tells me that you've been in here multiple times this week, is something wrong?" Erwin asked him after they sat down.

"No, not really," Levi said staring at his drink.

"You look pretty shaken up. You don't have to tell me anything but I'm willing to listen."

Levi sighed and decided there wasn't any harm in it.

"Eren confessed to me," he said simply.

"Confessed?... Oh!" Erwin realized, but was honestly not that surprised.

"Yeah."

"I assume you're not sure on how to respond and as a result you've been avoiding him."

"Yup."
