The week went by rather smoothly for both Eren and Levi. Eren went to work and came home as he usually did, although it took him a couple of days to adjust to there being someone there when he came back. Levi kept his word and cleaned the entire house by the time Eren got back the next day. Even the art room, which Eren wouldn't have minded it's just now he didn't know where anything was. He was willing to adjust though. Also it turned out Levi could cook very well, which was good because Eren tended to burn most things more complicated than a grilled cheese sandwich.
He also introduced Levi to most the people on their floor. Across from Eren's apartment lived Jean and Marco who had been dating for almost three years. To the right of them there was Connie and Sasha who had been married for a little over a year, they lived with their Neko, Krista. To the right of Eren's apartment lived Annie and her two Neko's, Mikasa and Ymir. They were more like roommates with Annie more than anything else because they all led very different lives. Eren suspected that Ymir really liked Krista. Then finally to Eren's left was a couple, Franz and Hannah with their three year old daughter, Mina Charolina. In Eren's opinion it was a great place to live, he knew Jean, Connie and Sasha from high school and everyone else was very kind.
Introducing Levi to them was very interesting for Eren. They didn't go out and do it, they just ran into people randomly when Eren took him shopping. Hanji had dropped off Levi's stuff, mostly clothes and then there wasn't much else. Much to Levi's irritation, Eren insisted on taking him shopping. Also Levi didn't seem to like interacting with other people, even other Neko's. He was generally polite but didn't maintain a conversation with anyone. Also he and Mikasa for some reason that was beyond Eren, didn't like each other at all. They kept glaring at each other when Eren was introducing them.
Although meeting the Kefka's was very memorable for Eren. Their little girl, Mina took a cute fascination to Levi. She tried to get his tail when the young family ran into the two boys in the hall. Levi wouldn't let her grab it but he got done on all fours looked at her at her height. She smiled goofily and reached and grabbed onto his ears.
"Be gentle Mina dear," Hannah warned her daughter, smiling at the scene all the same.
Eren was trying hard to keep himself together. The sight was just so adorable, Levi kept a stoic face but then little Mina started scratching behind his ears. He seemed startled at first but then appeared to be fine with it after. In fact he seemed to enjoy to the point where after a while even though Mina was calling him a "good kitty" right in his ear. Then to everyone's shock Levi began to purr but as soon as he himself noticed he stopped and slowly stood upright. Eren thanked the two parents parents.
"Bye Mr. Kitty!" Said the young girl waving.
Levi gave a slight smile and waved a little back. Eren smiled broadly at this exchange and they both returned to the apartment.
"I would have never imagined that you like kids," Eren commented.
"I don't, they're messy and loud," Levi grumbled, obviously still embarrassed from the event that had just took place.
Eren rolled his eyes clearly not convinced.
Levi noticed this. "She reminded me of someone," he said curtly.
Eren could tell he didn't want to be pressed about it. Regardless he was still very curious about it. He found himself hoping that someday Levi would trust him enough to tell him more.
The day that Levi had first come was a Tuesday and it was now Friday. He had just bought the third Hobbit movie, which he had already seen in theaters but of course to be true to his nerdy collection, he had to buy it. So after an eventful week he decided to relax and watch it. Levi had spent the entire day reorganizing the kitchen and was now curled up on the end of the couch.
"Hey Levi do we have popcorn?" Eren asked, he felt uncomfortable using terms like "we" because he wasn't technically Levi's owner... yet but at this point Levi knew the apartment better than he did.
"Yes, top shelf of the far left cupboard," Levi said sleepily.
Eren smiled to himself at this. Eren then proceeded to make the popcorn and started the movie. He laid down on the other two cushions of the sofa and ate the popcorn while skipping through previews. He offered popcorn to Levi but he didn't want any. He usually slept in that position, curled up. Whether it was on the couch, armchair or on top of the guest bed.
About a quarter of the way through the movie Eren felt something heavy on his chest. He looked down to see Levi curled up on top of him. Eren smiled at the this unexpected gesture. He couldn't tell if Levi was awake or not but he was indifferent and just happy to be in this position. Although after a minute Levi looked up at him and then to the hand Eren had used to eat popcorn, sniffed it briefly then his face formed a look of disgust. Then to Eren's surprise he began to lick Eren's fingers.
"You know that's not that much more sanitary," he commented after recovering from the initial shock.
"Shut up, it's better than greasy popcorn," Levi said sternly.
Once finished Levi turned his head back to it's original position. Eren was still a bit shocked by the event that just occurred. Eventually he got over it and started to pet the Neko, scratching behind his ears and playing with his hair. Or is it considered fur? In any case they both fell asleep in that position.
