Chapter 4 Out with Rachel

The next morning as I sit in the kitchen eating my breakfast Lucas joins me at the table, he looks like a mess and it's obvious that he had fun last night.
"You look like shit." I chuckle and Lucas gives me an evil glare as he eat a spoon of his cereals and I just laugh.
"We joined another party." He tells me. It bothers me that I couldn't stay so I'm really jalousie of the fact that he had fun last night. Rachel joins us in the kitchen and looks at Lucas.
"You don't look like you're ready for work today." She laughs and Lucas just continues to eat his breakfast.
"Why don't we go out and have some girl time today?" She asks me when we're done eating breakfast. I just look at her because I really don't know what to say. Why should we hang out together? I just wanna do my own thing and you're way to pushy, if you just gave me the space I needed then maybe i would consider to hang out with you. - "Amelia please work with me I'm really really trying." She then says.
"I just don't feel like it." I admit. She looks at me with frowned eyebrows.
"But you felt like hanging out with Lucas for the past 2 days?" She's questioning. I get up from my chair and walk towards the kitchen with my bowl and heading to the kitchen counter without answering her. - "Amelia, why are you avoiding me?" She asks.
"I'm not avoiding you Rachel!" I say with an irritating tone.
"Then answer my question." She says.
"Yes I felt like hanging out with Lucas and his friends because I wanna make friends in this shitty city." I say and roll my eyes.
"And you don't think we should bond?" She asks.
"You think we're gonna bond by spending the day together?" I ask her like she's stupid.
"I think it will bring us a lot closer so you really don't have a choice Amelia, so go to your room and get ready because we're going out today." She says.
"Fine." I mumble and go to my room.

We drive to the mall and walk around, I'm giving her the cold shoulder while she's trying to make a conversation with me. Suddenly someone yells my name which I find pretty weird since I'm new here so I turn around and see DeShaun and Marshall walking up to me and they say hi to Rachel before they turn their attention to me.
"What's up?" DeShaun asks me with his hands in his pockets.
"Nothing much, what about you?" I ask.
"We're just chilling." DeShaun says and continues. - "What are you doing tonight?" I look at Rachel because I don't know how long she's planing us to hang out.
"Well I think you should stay home with us tonight." Rachel says. Is this bitch serious?
"Yo are you still coming down to the shelter tomorrow?" Marshall asks and I feel Rachel's eyes on me because me and Lucas haven't even asked Rachel or James yet. - "I signed up for the battle." Marshall then says.
"Actually.. I haven't asked yet." I tell them awkwardly and I can see on their faces that they know they fucked up.
"Alright but I hope to see you there." Marshall says casually. After my little chat with the boys me and Rachel wanna grab some lunch.
"So what was that about going to the shelter tomorrow night?" She asks while we sit at the restaurant and eat. I should've expected that, shouldn't I? I drink some of my water while she's waiting for me to answer her question.
"They just invited me earlier this week I never promised them anything." I say without looking at her.
"I just don't think that place is something for you." She says and angers fills me inside because what does she know? Maybe rap isn't one of my biggest interests but I got invited and I can make friends! I just wanna throw those words in her face but I bite my tongue because I really wanna go, so i just stay quiet. - "And those people who comes there is a lot older than you Amelia, I really think you should make friends with people in your own age." I literally don't know what to say because what I feel like saying won't come out that nice.
"Lucas is gonna be there too." I say still not making eye contact.
"But Lucas is 18 so that's different." She says and I now look at her.
"But Rachel I don't wanna sit at home on a Friday night and they just invited me, please I just wanna go out." I say in the nicest way I can. Normally i would have lost my temper by now but I know if I do that she ain't gonna allow me to go. She just looks at me and I can see she's considering it.
"Fine but I want you to go home right after the show." She says in a serious tone.
"Thank you." I say with a smile. The rest of the say I'm being really nice to Rachel but it's all a facade.
