Chapter 2 Recap:

“Ok, here we are, Jane, this is my house” I looked up and saw a small two story house in front of me.

I knew that I shouldn’t get involved with more humans, but this was a nice place, I smiled and walked up to it, not once thinking about the consequences that I would have to face later.

Moonlight Kiss

Chapter 3

I took a deep breath and enter the house. It was small, nothing like the palace, but somehow this place felt warm and cozy. The living room was connected to the kitchen and so was the dinning room, making the house look a bit spacious. A couple of photos were hanging on the wall as well as paintings.

“You can stay in the guest room for now” I turned to face him and saw him blushing. How cute!

I smiled and nodded. “Thank you”

We stood like this for a minute, silence filled the room and I was getting a little nervous.

“I…I better show you the room” he walked passed me and nodded me to follow him. The room was not far away, it was at the end of the hallway. He opened the door and entered the room.

The room was small, its walls were decorated with a couple of paintings and the bed stood in the middle of the room.

“I hope you like it…I’ll just leave you now, make yourself comfortable” he said exiting the room.

I sighed in relief, this is it. I’m finally here.

I looked around the room and placed the bag that I was carrying on top the bed. A smile spread across my face and I jumped right onto the bed.

As I recall the events that have occurred since I left home, there was nothing that could have prepared me for this. I mean, Robert was nice to take in, but it felt odd.

I know, me being a vampire was easy to see if he was planning on hurting me or not, which he hasn’t…yet.

But there was something else that leads me to Robert; maybe because he wasn’t a vampire like me, I’m sure there is something else.

I changed into a comfortable outfit and went to sleep.

{The Next Day}

I yawned as soon as I felt light coming through the small window of the room. A feeling of guilt went through me as I hit with reality. I am no longer in palace grounds, from now on…I’m no longer Princess Jane, and from now on…I’m just plain Jane.

A knock on the door startled me, a grabbed the comforter and brought close to my chest.

“Come in” I managed to say. The door opened to reveal a very sleepy Robert coming to my room.

“Is everything alright?” I asked.

“I…yeah, everything is fine. Hey listen, my mom got here not long ago and I explained to her your situation, and she wants to see you” he said sounding nervous.

I nodded. “Ok, just let me get dress”

He nodded and left.

I wonder what his mom is going to tell me, hopefully she doesn’t tell me to leave. It would be unfortunate to leave right now after all that I’ve been through.

Oh, well, I hope I can still stay here for now.

I got up and got out my jeans and a plain purple t-shirt.

Once ready I put on my best smile and exit the room. I stopped as soon as I heard faint voices coming from the kitchen.

“Mom, I found her in front of Mitch’s store, she was crying!” Robert admitted.

“Rob, you can’t trust strangers like that. What is she is lying?” a female voice asked. Which I’m guessing was his mother.

“Look, I’ll talk to her; get her to tell me the truth. But for right now, can she just stay with us?”

Her mother pause for a minute, I just hope she says yes.

“Ok, but she better leave soon, we can’t keep her for long” she said.

“Thanks”

I decided that it was time for me to come out and face his mother.

I saw them both in the kitchen; Robert was wearing plain jeans and a blue shirt, while his mom was wearing a jacket with a logo of a factory on it and plain blue jeans.

She smiled sympathetically. “Hello, you must be Jane; I’m Rose…Robert’s mom”

“Hi…Robert said you wanted to talk to me” I said nervously. She turned to look at her son and gave him a long stare before turning back to me.

“Yes, I was just talking to Robert and well he told me about your situation and I came to the decision that you can stay here as long as you tell find somewhere else soon”

“Mom” Robert whined. He gave me an apologetic smile, I nodded.

“I understand, I’ll find a place to stay soon or I’ll just go back home instead”

“Where are you from exactly?” she asked.

I froze, what am I suppose to tell her?

“I’m…I’m from Canada”

“Oh, that explains how pale you are, not that it doesn’t look good on you…anyway, I’m going to prepare breakfast” she said and left the kitchen. I’m guessing she headed to her room upstairs.

“Hey, I’m sorry about that, my mom doesn’t trust strangers very much” he blushed and looked down.

I took a step forward until I was standing in front of him. He looked up and smiled.

“It’s okay, I…I need to go out, I need to go back to my family’s cabin to see if they’re back…I won’t take long”

“Do you need a ride there?”

“No…it’s fine, I don’t want to be a burden between you and your mom” I said smiling sadly and headed to the door.

As I reached the doorway, I turned to face him and smiled. “I’ll be back, I promise”

He gave me a long stare, his brown eyes stare back at me with some kind of vulnerability and weakness, and my heart stopped beating for a minute.

Our eyes connected in a level, it was as if he was looking through my soul. It was making me nervous and at the same time his stare wouldn’t let go of me, I was paralyzed, no one said a word, it was as if our minds were connected in a weird, yet magical way.

I averted my gaze to from his face to his neck, I could hear the sound of his blood pulsing through his veins, my throat started to ache and I soon found myself craving for his blood.

His sweet and innocent blood, I looked away, opening the door quickly and exiting the house.

I ran away as fast as I could, I could hear him from behind, calling my name. I ran and ran, hoping to get away from him.

I soon found myself in the forest, the trees then started to make a path for me, as if they knew who I was.

I bet they were expecting me to come back soon, I followed the path; my thirst was getting difficult to ccontrol. I had to hunt before it was too late.
