I gave him one more kiss before heading back to my room. I looked around my room as my eyes landed on the same thing that I tried so hard to avoid all this time. But now I know that I can’t ignore it anymore. I headed to my bed and took out the book that Victoria had giving me.

I sat comfortably on the bed placing the book in front of me. With a sigh I carefully open the book and turn it to the first page.

          I gasped as soon as I saw…

                                                           Moonlight Kiss {Chapter 22}

I hesitantly turn to the first page of the book; the edges were smooth against my fingertips. I somehow felt as if I was looking through some type of secret waiting to be revealed. Not knowing what was waiting for me once I turned to the page, I couldn’t help but to gasp as soon as I saw my name written in a gothic format on the page. It was waiting for me, but how?

I brace myself for the truth that I was about to read. I gulped taking small deep breaths. My hands began to shake as I slowly turned to the next page. I gently trace each word with my fingers as I read the next page. It started by talking about the prophecy from the beginning until now. I was surprised to see so many things that I didn’t quite understand. As I kept reading, I stopped as soon as I saw the last two sentences.

There will be pain within the forest, to destroy it one must learn its history. You will be tempted with your deepest desires; you must give up one thing to gain another.

I knew right then that it was talking about Robert. He is the one that is going to pay the price at the end. I felt a tear trailing down my cheek. I wanted to close the book and never read it again, but I couldn’t. I wanted to stop but I had no choice but to keep reading it. I kept on turning to the next pages, every single one of them revealed something about the forest, something about the legend that brought me here in the first place.

I stopped as soon as I saw a picture of the forest, it looked deathly to me. The next page turned out to be quite helpful since it started talking about how I was going to start my journey.

The dark forest waits for souls that want to find the truth and destroy evil. One must be protected against its harm or it will tempt the weakest of minds. If you are ready then you must continue your journey to the forest where it exits the deepest of sins and pain. If you must, follow each and everything that this book has to give you.

It will not tell you how to destroy evil, but it will tell you how you can obtain help even when you are facing the darkness. You must listen to your heart, only the ones destined to succeed will get help when they least expect it.

This is it then, there is no going back now. I close the book and gently place it on the bed. I tilted my head and saw that it was dark outside, the moon stood in front of me shining through the window. Its light somehow gave me hope as I stare at its bright light. I walked up to the window placing my right hand on the cold glass.

I hope I’m doing the right thing. I thought before a startling noise interrupted my thoughts. I looked back as the door started to open.

“I’m back” Robert said grinning at me. I felt a tingly sensation in my stomach as my gaze met his. We stare at each other for a minute just mesmerizing each other’s eyes. His soft brown eyes were full of happiness and love. He took a step forward into the room, not once breaking our gaze.

I felt my legs move towards him. He met me half way and enveloped me with his arms. I leaned against his warm chest just breathing in his scent. He sighed against my hair tightening his grip around me. “I missed you” he whispered softly.

“I missed you too”

“What did you do all day?” he asked pulling back just enough so that we could see each other.

I smiled. “I was reading the book that Victoria gave me. I needed to be prepare for what’s to come once we leave this place” His eyes held pure curiosity wanting to know more.

“So…is it safe for us to go then?”

I let go of his arms walking up to my bed while looking down at the book. “No…but I have no other choice” I turned to face him and sighed. “I have to go, we have a till the end of this week.”

He looked at the book before turning his attention back to me. “Ok. What do we have to do ‘till then?”

I sat on the bed patting the stop next to me. He walked up to me and sat right next to me. I gently took his hand letting his warmth take over me. “I have a plan…but I’m not sure if you will like it” I hesitantly responded.

He squeeze me hand gently. “What kind of plan?”

I looked down at our hands before speaking. “I…can’t leave Alexander alone…he has done so much for me. I have to get him something in return only then would I be able to leave in peace.”

“Ok, what’s your plan then?”

I gulped already feeling my body temperature raising. “I…I….was planning on introducing him to Melissa?”

He let go of my hand quickly before standing up. “WHAT?!?”
