Moonlight Kiss

Chapter 5

I changed into a violet dress and flats. I looked at myself in the mirror, my gaze averted to the diamond necklace that my mother had giving when I turned fifteen. Its heart shape made me smile. It remained me so much at my mother and how I had left home.

Remorse…that’s what I felt and sadness. I wonder what parents are doing right now, probably looking for me.

I raise my left hand and saw the ring that both parents had giving me not long ago, the golden ring represented royalty and a sign that remained me that I was a princess.

A vampire princess.

Maybe I should take it off, I thought. I grabbed my purse and placed the ring in one its pockets.

I heard a faint knock on the door. “Come in”

Robert enter the room and looked up me from head to toe, his cheeks turned rosy pink. I had to control myself from laughing, he just looked so cute.

Now what am I thinking? I can’t think that, I can’t get too attached to him or we’re both going to regret it.

“Are you ready?” he asked. He was wearing plain blue jeans and a plain brown shirt. He looked simple and normal.

I nodded. “Ok, then let’s go, my mom is waiting for us outside”

We exit the room and went outside. His mother was wearing a jeans and a baby blue blouse.

“Aren’t you cold?” she asked giving me a weird look. I looked at myself, then outside and saw a couple of gray clouds.

“Umm…No, I’m fine” she nodded still unsatisfied and with that she walked ahead of us.

“Don’t worry about her…she is just having a bad day” Robert whispered. I didn’t even noticed how close he was until now. I could see his face clearly now, his eyes…it was as if they were looking through me.

As a vampire, I was able to detect certain things about people, or at least creatures like myself, but I have never detected anything stronger in my life. Not like my best friend didn’t mattered, but he was just a regular guy. Although we were raised together, my senses become stronger. Letting me sense and feel what others can’t.

It was strange how my powers work, I won’t consider drinking blood a power or natural…although it was in my nature to do it, sometimes it felt wrong and it made me wonder even more about who I was or where I wanted to do or be.

I gulped and took a step back. “Don’t worry about it. Should we go now?”

He blinked and nodded.

As we made our way through the streets, I looked around me and saw a few people carrying baskets filled with flowers in them. I saw daisies, tulips, roses and sunflowers.

My mood changed from depressed to happy in a matter of seconds. Robert saw my reaction and smiled. “We can go see them if you like, my mom won’t mind” he said smiling.

“Okay” I said a little bit over excited. He chuckled and took my hand in his as we both headed toward the booth.

Flowers were placed all over the booth. A couple of girls were whispering and looking over at Robert and me.
