Moonlight Kiss

Chapter 12

As I looked at Alexander, my heart started to speed fast and the image of my parents came into my mind.

There were a lot of things that kept me from running away, which I could, after all my vampire speed is faster than any humans’. But I promised Robert that I wasn’t going to leave and that’s exactly what I’m going to do for now…until the time comes.

Alexander stood in front of me, pain crossed his eyes, and he also had dark circles around them as if he lost sleep.

I wonder if this is my fault. I left without leaving a note or anything and now here I am in the human world- happy to be here, while others were unhappy.

Alexander changed his expression and smiled. “I’m so glad I found you. Everyone is looking for you Jane…your parents are very upset”

I felt dizzy all of the sudden…maybe it was remorse. I hate to admit it, but I wish I can go back and forget about all of this, but I can’t.

I already grew attached to this place and Robert.

Robert…I felt guilty for liking Robert and not remember my best friend.

“You’re coming with me right?” he asked taking a step forward.

I looked down at the concrete floor and shook my head.

“No”

“What? Why?” he asked sounding shocked and sad. I looked up and saw his big brown eyes staring back at me.

Our friendship bonded us in a way that I could actually feel his pain. I took a step forward and hugged him tightly.

I felt his hands caressed my back gently. “I missed you Jane” he whispered against my shoulder.

I inhaled his intoxicating scent and smiled. I had missed him so much; his touch and gentleness.

“I missed you too silly” I giggled and caressed his hair lightly. I felt him relaxed at my touch. It felt like if he was surrounding to me, all the worries and sad memories would get erased as soon as we were together.

He sighed and gently kisses the side of my neck. I shrugged at soon as his lips touched my delicate skin.

I remember the first time he started acting all mushy on me. We were eleven and he came running down the hall crying because one of his friends destroyed his favorite toy. I immediately went up to the guy and accidently broke his nose as soon as I punched him. I was then developing my strength and I didn’t quiet measure how much it would hurt him. Alexander started laughing, he grabbed my hand and took my to the kitchen for a few treats.

When we were alone that night, we both hugged under the stars and that’s when he started caressing my face, then kissed me out of nowhere.

His lips touched mine for a second before he pulled away. We both started laughing as we headed back to the castle.

We never mentioned our little scene again after that, but he did started kissing me constantly, anywhere but my lips.

At the beginning I felt weird, but then I got used to him doing all of that stuff. We both made it very clear that we were friend and nothing else.

Then all of those gestures started to comfort me and made me feel close to him.

We were both raised together; it is easy to say that we’re attached in a personal level.

No, we never dated each other, but there was something that always brought us together.

I felt save around him, he made me feel…human.

“You have to understand Alexander, I want to be here…at least for a few more days” I said looking at him, making sure that he still had his arms around my waist.

“I guess a few days here wouldn’t hurt. I have so much to show you” he said excitedly grinning like a little boy.

I laughed. “Sure, but there is something that I have to tell you”

He looked at me confused but nodded. “I found a human family that is taking care of me, they have shown me around”

“Jane, you can’t just interact with a regular family…it could be dangerous” he said concerned.

“I know…but they’re nice. You have to meet them” I said pulling away from him.

He immediately grasped my hand and pulled me back. “I will, but first we have to a place to stay. From now on you’re staying with me if you want us to stay in this town” he said.

Oh no…what am I going to tell Robert now?
