A giant boulder was thrown at Superman by Darkseid. "A pathetic excuse of a hero you are, Superman." The Lord of Apokolips taunted, pushing the boulder aside.

Panting heavily, Superman lay on the ground, growing weary from the fight. Superman made an attempt to throw a punch, but Darkseid caught his fist.

"This world is already mine, yet you choose to defy me. And it will burn like the rest I've conquered." Darkseid gloated, firing his Omega Beams into Superman's chest.

"Ahh!" Superman roared in agony as the beams burnt his chest. The pain inflicted into him caused Darkseid great pride as he grinned.

"Yes, scream. Scream like the filth you are, Kal-El." The Lord of Apokolips mocked, picking him up by the neck. Kal coughed as Darkseid tightened his grip to prevent flow of oxygen.

Darkseid squeezed tighter, his eyes glowing bright. "Only when I kill every single being in this world. When oceans of blood and fire remain, and the last shred of hope inside you extinguishes, I'll end your miserable life."

Superman glared at Darkseid, gritting his teeth in anger. "As long as my allies and I are breathing, the Earth won't be yours." The Man of Steel spat blood into Darkseid's face.

The Lord of Apokolips wiped the blood with his other hand as he glared at him. "You and your so called friends will die at my hands!"

Dropping Superman, Darkseid began stomping his chest. The Man of Steel yelled in paint as he fired at Darkseid his heat vision. Kal threw him off and began striking Darkseid with punches and kicks.

The evil New God of Apokolips grabbed a hold of Superman's arm and twisted it. Darkseid then blasted him with an Omega Beam, plummeting Superman straight into the streets.

Darkseid jumped on top of Superman, cracking a few of the Man of Steel's ribs. Superman screamed in agony as he kept stomping on his chest.

"You're doomed, Superman." Darkseid assured the Man of Steel. "The fate is this world is already sealed. Just like the ones of your friends."

Darkseid held Superman's face and turned it to force him observe in horror the world around him.

Darkseid's fleet kept blasting buildings down to the ground. The parademons continued their massacring of the military forces.

"No." Superman grunted, widening his eyes at the sight of Batman and Luthor laying unconsciously on the streets.

In Paris, the French military began withdrawing from their defensive lines to escape Darkseid's forces.

A soldier approached his captain with worry evident in his expression. "Capitan, must we not notify the heroes?" The soldier asked in his native language. The captain shook his head to point out otherwise.

"No, afraid not. They'll see we're retreating with the remaining troops and civilians." The French captain denied his request, ordering him to full back along with the rest.

Green Lantern crashed into a business booth near the Eiffel Tower. "With the French calling back their army, looks like we're facing this one alone." John said to Flash and Giganta who approached him.
