Chapter 10: Most is Lost

  "I believe more guest have arrived." Doctor Fate felt the presence of the newly arriving heroes. "I sense that they bring a wounded. Inza, prepare a room for us to treat her."

   Inza grabbed a bag of medical equipment to prepare a room for treatment. "I shall go and bring them here. Wait for me." The sorcerer opened a portal and walked through it.

   Outside of the Tower, the portal opened in front of the heroes which allowed them in. The Master of Sorcery had his arms crossed as he waited for the heroes within the portal.

  "My friends, I welcome you to my home." Fate greeted them.

   He walked towards Stargirl and had a quick look at her. "Her state is worsening by the second. I have a room prepared for her, hurry." Doctor Fate motioned for the heroes to enter his home.

   Fate escorted the arriving heroes to the library. Superman came up to Martian Manhunter and the rest with a smile on his face.

  "J'onn, I'm glad to see you. All of you." The Man of Steel greeted the Martian and the others. Martian Manhunter smiled and looked at Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl. "Seeing you all in one piece brings me comfort."

   Doctor Fate had Atom Smasher carry the gurney to the room prepared for Stargirl. When they reached the room, Fate assured he could handle it with his wife.

  "Inza and I shall ensure her recovery. Join the others in the library." Albert Rothstein nodded, leaving the room.

The couple laid Stargirl in a table to begin her treatment. She had a bullet fired into stomach and another at her chest. Inza firstly cleaned the wounds with an alcohol towel, which stung the wounded Courtney.

Back in the library, Superman and the present League members were to discuss the events of today.

"Start from the beginning, J'onn. What exactly happened in the Watchtower?" Batman asked, wanting to know every detail of the attack.

"It was a normal day like any other. As I was doing my usual check with the ground teams, ships are inbound to the Watchtower." The Last Son of Mars began. "Then they came in through the hangar."

"Vasts numbers of soldiers and androids hopped off from the crafts and began the attack." Huntress added, interrupting J'onn's explaining.

   Batman frowned at the mention of the army, believing it to be Gaines' work in bringing 'Warstrom' to realization.

"Back at Metropolis we were attacked by the same army. Sadly we lost Doctor Light, Vibe, and Ralph." Wonder Woman added, stating their losses.

"Well, what was kinda of off to me was the fact a bunch of bad guys lead the army." Element Woman said, earning a curious look from Batman and Superman.

  "Exactly, what bad guys where there?" The Dark Knight had his stern look as he asked the element shapeshifter.

   She nervously gulped as she started thinking back. "I remember Black Manta, King Shark, Lady Vic, Firefly, and a walking tiger. The rest I don't know."

  "That was Bronze Tiger." Atom Smasher stated. "The others were Gemini, Blockbuster, Doctor Light, Baron Blitzkrieg, Clock King, Jinx, Shimmer, and Electrocutioner."
