The White House had now become the permanent residence of Richard Gaines. A reconstruction was set in motion for the place, making it look more like a fortress.General Gaines was overseeing the progress of the reconstruction and was impressed with its rapid development. He was in his office joined by Amanda Waller.
"Amanda, I'm glad you can join me here." The general said, paying his attention to the woman joining him in the room.
Waller nodded, taking a seat as she stared at the general. "Thank you for having me over, Richard. For what have you called for me?"
"Firstly, I'd like to say I'm most pleased with our results." He began, his tone filled with triumph. "In this week we succeeded in bringing down the Justice League and Secret Society."
"Additionally, many of the other nations already follow our rule. Soon, the peace and prosperity I promised will be fulfilled."
Amanda Waller gave a nod, following his every word. "Good, seems you're operation worked out in the end. Maybe this was worth it."
"I can assure you, my dear Amanda, that Warstrom has prevailed and nothing will stop me from bringing back this world's glory." General Gaines spoke with much pride.
"As much as I agree, don't forget Superman and a handful of others survived and we don't know where they hide." The woman reminded him, presenting a problem. "And Deadshot informed me that Lex Luthor and others escaped the raid on their base."
The general frowned, knowing what Waller was saying true. "Maybe, but there isn't much they can do in reality. Why, they don't know who we have prisoners." He said. "But that doesn't mean to keep a watchful eye out."
He moved from his spot to stand near the window, followed by Waller. "Of course we will, Richard." Amanda replied, sitting on the window's ledge.
"Good. So what news do you have from our associates?" Gaines asked, wishing to hear more of their progress.
Waller smirked as she looked at the general. "All goes well. Hills is in possession of the prisoners while the others spread our influence across the globe."
With everything set in order, General Gaines was pleased hearing the results so far. "Perfect. We'll continue to work hard to provide for the people and find the remaining Leaguers and deal with them." The general stated.
A sly smile crossed Waller's face as she placed her hands on the general's waist, pulling him close to her. "Then if that's all, how about we..."
"No, I'm sorry but no, Amanda." Gaines interrupted her, removing her arms from his waist. "A have a matter far pressing that needs attention than this."
"Which is?" Amanda glanced at him with an annoyed expression, upset with General Gaines.
"An expedition of sorts. One that will require some aid from Task Force X." He answered. "The mission would be to have an assault carried out against the fabled city of Atlantis."
From her annoyed expression, curiosity now crossed the woman's face. "Why? As long as we don't cause an act that would present problems to them, Atlantis wouldn't attack us."
