Recap-

"Wendigo's, will capture their prey, and keep them alive for several days. Then possess them, turn them into cannibals." She explained. "Some would rather kill themselves then face one." She looked at them. "They're actually suppose to be a myth..."

"Okay...well then, how do we escape?" Kili asked.

"It can be killed one way, the only one I've found."

"Which is..?" Dwalin was getting annoyed.

"Through its heart." Evelyn said. "But, I'd much prefer sneaking away then killing."

Ori nodded.

So, they silently - as silent as Dwarves and an Elleth can be. Walked backwards. Until one, Kili. Walked into a tree.

Evelyn gave an annoyed sigh. "Really?"

Branches started to snap. Loud footsteps could be heard. It was the Wendigo.

The air began to give off the smell of decay. It soon came into sight. The creature looked like a living skeleton, barely any skin on it's bones, bloody lips. Hunched over, rack of antlers on its head, long arms that were a few inches away from the ground. What skin it had was a brownish-grey. It's ribs and insides were visible and bloody, but sunk into its body. The creature had glowing yellow eyes.

The Wendigo gave off an eerie aura one that made a person want to run, or come closer. - To be hypnotized.

Kili was in a trance, and started to walk forward. "Kili, Daro!" *Kili, Stop!*

"Dwalin, Ori we have to get out of here!" I said urgently. As we started to pull Kili back.

"Get ready to run." I warned.

Once they had a good hold on him, I started to shoot it, the Wendigo. Aiming for the heart. It was sunk back in it's chest. As were the eyes. Disgusting.

I got the chance to shoot three arrows, towards the heart, the only place it could be killed.

Elves don't like to kill. It hurts us. We're said to be one with Nature.

But, as I fired these three arrows, they missed the target, it was hard to see it's heart - even for an elf.

The intestines were sunken in. Sunken so far into the body I'm surprised they weren't coming through his back.

The Wendigo started to advance. I started to back up.

"Guys, run. Run!" I turned around, bow in hand and pushed little Ori forward gently.

We ran West, Dwalin in the front Kili in the middle, Ori behind him, and me bringing up the back.

We ran through the woods, hearing the Wendigo's heavy footsteps behind us. He obviously wanted us - probably hasn't ate in weeks maybe months. His odor was strong, making it a reminder that we were still in danger.

So we ran as quick as possible dodging branches and jumping over logs. Soon the sound of water came to my ears. Not just the normal stream, but rapids. A waterfall. I didn't slow the group down as foolish as that might've been. We had more pressing issues at hand, a hungry man-eating-cannibal-turning, Wendigo on our tail.

Soon the sound of rushing water came to the Dwarves ears as well, and their pace started to slow. "Don't worry, everything will be alright." I said in a hurry...But I wasn't so sure of my own words. The pace picked up.

Until we were at the cliff of the waterfall...

"Do you have weapons?" I asked.

"No miss, the Mirkwood Elves took them." Said Ori.

"Pe-channas!" *Idiots!* I cursed.

"I've always hated those Elves..."

"Then why are you in these woods, Evelyn?" Kili asked.

"Long story. But, my Kin didn't exactly accept me where I lived before...Or what I did."

I received nods of understanding.

'Now then, no time for talking!' I thought

I slung my bow on my back, making sure my arrows were secure.

The Wendigo was gaining on us.

"We have no choice but to jump, I'm afraid..." I said

"Where will we end up?" Dwalin asked

"The Anduin River."

I then jumped.

If they were smart, they will follow.

I looked up, and saw a horrified look from Ori.

'It's not That big of a jump..'

Then, I heard three splashes.

We paddled down the river, away from the shores of Mirkwood, unfortunately it was bringing us South...

We, Kili, Dwalin, Ori and I landed on the West side of the Anduin River. Just a few miles from Lothlórien.

We let out identical groans.

Dwalin came up to me, as I was just getting up. "Now, pray tell where are we, Evelyn?"

"We, Master Dwarf I am sad to say are very close to Lothlórien."

"Lothlórien, the home of Lady Galadriel?" Kili asked, coming up to me.

"Yes... And Lord Celeborn." I replied, walking away.

The Dwarves were now having some discussion about a key.

Me? I was too deep in my thoughts to care.

"Miss Evelyn?"

"Yes Ori?"

"Can you perhaps take us to Lothlórien?" The other two, including Ori looked at me hopefully.

I sighed.

The memories came back in full force. I was kicked out of my home, The Golden Wood. Would they let me back in? Would Lady Galadriel accept Dwarves in her home? 'Is it worth the risk?'

I closed my eyes and answered "May I ask why?"

Everyone was silent.

"We... Need a key from her." Kili spoke.

"Ah, the Dwarven key. I know the one you speak of."

I got many stares.

"Do I know it's purpose? No."

They sighed in relief.

"Now then, lets get on the road, shall we? It's about two days if we take little breaks."

We checked to see what we had, if we lost anything during the fall - and the 'swim' in the river, I luckily didn't lose my bow and arrows. The Dwarves didn't have much to lose in the first place... 'Hopefully we can fix that.'

Not much was lost, all together. We just looked drowned rats.

"Alright, no time to waste.. Follow me."

...And so it began the journey I never wanted to see...
