Recap-
He smiled. "Vines? You trapped him in vines?"
"Yes, I did. To his own Throne, he was attacking people what was I suppose to do?"
"It sounds like you have been busy while I've been gone."
I laughed. "Gandalf, you don't know the half of it."
"So, will you help us?"
"My dear Acea, I will always help."
"And vice-versa, Gandalf."
"Where is Bilbo Baggins?"
"At the moment, I don't know....Possibly on the balcony?"
Gandalf and I headed that way, but we heard marching in the far distance.
I groaned. "Not more drama..."______________
* Apostrophe ' in 'italics are thoughts, blah, blah, blah...'
* And, Happy Holidays!!__________
Gandalf and I quickened our footsteps so that we were nearly at a jog.... Again.
I was right, Bilbo was at the Balcony.
And... We were far from being alone. We could hear the marching of an Army coming closer.
"Gandalf, Arietta! What's going on, have you any clue?"
"King Thranduil is here I suspect." Gandalf spoke gravely
"What are we going to do?" I asked.
"We have to destroy it, and soon." He replied.
"Destroy what?"
"The stone, Bilbo. Before anything major happens."
"Come, you two with me." Gandalf rushed back the way we came. 'what's that Wizard up to?'
A bad, nerve wracking feeling was making its way into my stomach, as we were making our way back to my room.
"Arietta, Bilbo I'll need your help to get rid of this stone."
"Erm, okay."
Bilbo looked nervous, as he should. Magic was dangerous, this stone was also."Bilbo, if you would stand watch at the door, please. This spell may attract some attention."
"They'll hear it through the door?"
"Possibly, Bilbo. You never know with Magic." I spoke.
"Now, Arietta I need you to make this Potion for me - you're much better at potions then I ever will be. But be quick. I'll tell you the ingredients." Gandalf said, pulling a recipe out from his cloak.I ran over to my Kitchen, yes I brew potions in my Kitchen. And got to work gathering the ingredients.
"1 tablespoon of Wolf Chervil, 4 sprinkles of Wild Aniseed, 5 teaspoons of Pygmy Leaf, 3 bits of Knettle Thyme, 6 bits of Mage Clove."
Gandalf paused. "Did you catch all of that, my dear?"
"Mhm, I did. Continue." I said, looking over my shoulder. He was reading from a scroll."Stir the Wolf Chervil very delicately at first, then with unleashed fury at the end. Put the result in a cup, vial, or bowl. Add a dash of water to turn it into a paste, then add the Wild Aniseed in small amounts at a time. Add the mixture and let it rest for five minutes. Wake up the mixture and bring it to a simmer. Let it simmer for a while, you've earned a break before adding the Pigmy Leaf and Knettle Thyme, make sure to add them in the right order, from least to most volatile. Reheat everything and let it simmer, mix in the Mage Clove and let everything rest for 3 more minutes If you're impatient you can skip this step and move on."
Fifteen or so minutes later, the potion was finished, it turned out to be a scarlet colored sticky paste.
Gandalf sighed. "Now that, that's over with... Here comes the destruction."
"Oh fun." I said sarcastically.
He gave me a look, "Yes, 'oh fun.' In this case, it has to be. I'm afraid..."
"Now, bring that potion over here, would you? Carefully. Yes, careful now."I walked to the table as he was putting the vile, evil Arkenstone down.
"Whats the next step? I'm obviously not familiar with this spell."
"With Liberundo, we simply have to spread the paste on it, and it should dissolve...But be warned Arietta, all Magic comes with a price."
"I know Gandalf, I know."
So, we got to spreading the Scarlet paste on the Arkenstone. And backed away as soon as it was all covered.
"There we go, its starting to glow, see?"
"Yeah... And I don't like it."
The stone's glow started to brighten, and it slowly dissolved. Very slowly. And with one Really loud pop it desegregated.
"Its gone..." I whispered. "We're free." I stared in shock at where the stone use to be.
"Yes, my dear..But what is the price?""I don't mean to interrupt but, there's quite the commotion once again coming from Erebor's entrance.. I believe." Bilbo said, worried.
"Can't it ever be peaceful around here?" I said looking between the two of them.
"It seems the answer is no, Arietta - for now."We once again hurried to the entrance. Only to see The Dwarves on the Balcony.
"Ah crap." I spoke under my breathe.
We slowly walked up to them, I peaked out from behind Kili's shoulder.
"Elves.. They're everywhere!" I told Gandalf and Bilbo. "Oh, we are so dead."I then noticed a man on a white horse riding up. He looked awfully familiar. 'Bard?'
"Hail Thorin! Son of Thrain, we are glad to find you alive beyond hope."
I gulped. Bad feeling, the very bad feeling was returning.
"Why do you come to the gates of the King under the Mountain armed for war?"
"Why does the King under the Mountain fence himself in like a robber in his hold?"
'oh now you've done it, Bard..'
"Perhaps it is because I am expecting to be robbed."
"My Lord we have not come to rob you but to seek fair settlement. Will you not speak with me?"
Thorin nodded his head, and Bard got off his beautiful horse.Gandalf and I looked at each other, we knew what was going to happen...Well, probably happen. He wouldn't give Bard what he wanted. Dragon Sickness isn't called that for nothing, even if he might be healing from it...
