NORMAL POV
"We understand you didn't want to tell us but Liz you also have to understand that this wasn't right. She might have done something wrong but you did too by not talking to us." Paul, Liz's dad, says as she nods and his wife and his daughter sit in the kitchen island.
"I'm sorry but I was scared that I could have gotten kicked off the project." Liz says as her parents exchange looks.
"How would you feel like if you were kicked off the project?" My mom says as Liz stays quiet unsure how to feel or what to say.
"I don't exactly know. I mean we haven't started filming so I guess...I guess I wouldn't feel that bad." Liz says as her mom nods and her dad adjust himself in his chair.
"The producer will still be there but if she says these things to you again you have to tell us. She went off with a warning but if this happens again she can..." Paul says as Liz shakes her head.
"Dad no. I don't want someone to get fired from their job just because they said unnecessary comments about me." Liz says as her parents exchange looks.
"They were unnecessary comments and worse she said it to you. You're only 12. In fact, she shouldn't say that to anyone." Denise says as Liz sighs.
"I understand but...but." Liz says as she finds a good excuse to come to her defense.
"You're going to meet a lot of people like this and the only way to fight them is reporting it to someone. They could lose their jobs but they walked into this mess all on their own." Denise says to her daughter as she nods.
"I guess you're right." Liz says as she sits confidently in her chair.
"Dad!" They hear someone yell as the front door slams shut. "Dad!" They hear again as Paul stands up and walks towards the front door.
"I'm here. Can you stop yelling." Paul says in a loud voice as Denise and Liz both exchange looks and walk over to the threshold that separated the dining room from the living room.
"What the hell did you tell my publicist? You need to fire him because he just ruined everything." A voice who they've now distinguished is Joe's says.
"Joseph I don't know what you're talking about so please calm down before we get a noise complaint." Paul says as they now hear a loud thud making the two girls run into the next room where they see Joe on the couch with his face in his hands.
"Liz go to your room." Paul says as Denise pushes her slightly out of the living room.
"I need to know if he's okay." Liz says to her mom as she escorts her to the bottom of the stairs.
"Don't worry about it. Everything will be okay." Denise says before she runs back to the living room and Liz stands there unsure of what to do.
LIZ'S POV
People say that no news is good news but I don't think so. It pains me to have to sit here in my room and not know what's going on downstairs. The yelling stopped which is a good thing. However the image of seeing broken glass on the living room floor and Joe in tears can't leave my mind.
"Liz." I hear someone say as I nearly jump off my bed. "Liz?" I hear again as I walk over to the door. I open and see Kevin standing there.
"Is everything okay?" I ask him as he nods his head making me confused. "You're lying. How can everything be okay?" I say to him as he sighs.
"Everything's under control. Joe just had some problems with the publicist but don't worry dad is fixing everything." Kevin says as I nod.
"Can I at least know what happened between them?" I ask him as he clears his throat making me grow confused.
"You know you've been up here for quiet a while. You want anything to eat? Drink?" Kevin says to me as I shake my head.
"I'm fine. Thanks anyways." I say to him as he nods.
"Dani and I are in my room next door in case you need anything. We're watching a movie by the way you can join us." He tells me as I sigh and nod.
"Thanks again but I'll just stay in here. I have a lot of things to work on." I say to him as he nods.
"Alright." He says before walking off to his room.
I was defiantly overreacting. Joe was just being overdramatic. He can do that sometimes. No, this wasn't right. Something happened. Something big.
I hear the doorbell ring making me want to go downstairs to see what was going on. I knew it was wrong but I did go downstairs.
"This wasn't my fault. My job is to address the rumors and I did. I did it in the best possible way." I hear someone say as I hide out in the dining room.
"The best possible way? Clearly you didn't do a good job with that. Now everyone thinks Joe and Demi broke up." I hear my mom say as I grow confused.
"No better yet Demi thought this was a shallow way to break up with her. She won't even hear me out." Joe says as I quietly run over to my dad's study.
"Liz?" Someone says as I jump and turn around to see Nick sitting behind my dad's desk. "Why did you come downstairs?" He asks as I shrug my shoulders.
"I'm anxious." I admit as I go over and sit across from him. "It's super annoying to not know what's going on." I add as he nods.
"I'm guessing you heard what's going." He says as I nod. "Have you checked social media?" He asks me as I shake my head. "Good." He says getting up from the chair.
"What do you mean good? Is it that bad?" I say as I walk over to the computer and see numerous headlines.
Joe Jonas: Hollywood's Biggest Jerk, Joe's Latest Jerky Move
I can't believe they've been saying all these things about my brother. He's one of the most caring people I know.
"I told you not to check." Nick says as I shake my head. "Demi won't answer any of my calls." He adds as I sit down.
"This all started because of miscommunication between Joe and the publicist?" I say as I continue to scroll through the headlines.
"Liz stop looking at that. It'll only make it worse." Nick says as I turn the computer off.
"Seems like the universe is throwing hard balls at the Jonas family." I say as Nick looks at me confused. "The producer situation isn't looking too good." I say as Nick sighs.
"Liz, the situations that you and Joe are in seem impossible to get out off but don't worry you'll emerge out of victoriously." Nick says as I look up at him and stare at him with a blank stare.
