Chapter 30: Discovery

NORMAL POV

"How's packing going?" Liz says entering Nick's room and being surprised that nothing has been moved. "I'm confused are you moving out or not?" Liz asks as Nick chuckles.

"I am but I'm not taking much." Nick responds as Liz nods.

"I can't believe you're leaving. Now the only brother I can go to is Frankie." Liz says pouting as Nick laughs.

"You also have Joe and he doesn't live far." Nick says as Liz shrugs her shoulders.

"Yeah but he's going on tour. It's not going to be the same." Liz says as Nick shakes his head.

"I forgot that's he's going on tour. Wow we've been doing alot of traveling lately." Nick says as Liz bows her head.

"That's my fault. If it wasn't for me, we wouldn't be doing on this traveling." Liz says as Nick looks at her confused. "We've been going back and forth to Texas because of my...issue." Liz says making Nick shakes his head.

"Liz don't say that. This is...it's..." Nick says as he tries to find the right words to say.

"Don't you dare say it's normal because it's not. The situation we're in is one in a million and unfortunately we're the one...in a million." Liz says as Nick chuckles.

"Look on the bright side, right now everything seems different and good different. It's like the events from last summer didn't happen." Nick says as Liz smiles.

"It's true. I mean Demi is out of rehab and back home and we're friends and hanging out like we use to." Liz says as Nick turns away from her.

"Much to Joe's dismay." Nick mumbles.

"What?" Liz asks as Nick shakes his head. "But anyways I have new family and we're adjusting to this whole family situation." She adds as Nick nods.

"Liz!" They hear their dad yell from downstairs as they exchange confused looks.

"Whoa dad sounds mad." Nick says before both exit the room and quickly go downstairs.

"Elizabeth!" Their dad says once again as Liz and Nick enter his office.

"I'm here. Is everything okay?" Liz asks her dad as he stops pacing around.

"Nick can you please leave us alone?" Paul says as Nick nods and gives Liz an small smile before he steps out.

"So what's up?" Liz asks as her father grabs something from his desk and hands it to her.

"You got a letter." Paul says as Liz looks opens in reads the letter inside. She was familiar with the handwriting, it was Adriana's.

"You opened it?" Liz says as her heart begins to pound fast. It was true what they say, lies do come back to haunt you.

"I'm glad I did because if I didn't open it I wouldn't have found out that you have been talking to Adriana. Liz I told you not to." Paul says as Liz nods.

"I know and I seriously wish I had listened to you. I'm sorry." Liz says as her dad looks at her confused.

"What happened between you two? Did she hurt you?" Paul asks as Liz shakes her head.

"She didn't do anything to me. I just fell into her stupid trap and I regret it." Liz says as her dad looks at her concerned. "She asked for money and I gave it to her." She reveals as her dad tries to remain calm. "She told me that the only way you would let me see her was if she proved herself worthy so I gave her what she needed."

"How much did you give her?" Paul asks as Liz sighs.

"Close to five hundred. Dad I'm so sorry and I promise you that I'll make it up to you." Liz says as Paul shakes his head.

"It's going to be alright. At least you learned your lesson." Paul says before he returns the letter to Liz. "This is yours." He says as Liz nods and steps out of the room.

She looked at the envelope and thought about reading the letter. She wasn't sure what to do. One thing was for sure, she didn't want to fall for Adriana's tricks anymore. Furious, she tears the letter into pieces and walks over to the nearest trash can and throws it out.

LIZ'S POV

"Nothing says new year, new me like giving your things away." Briana says as we sort through my things.

"Well I am a teenager now so it's time for new things." I say as I continue to take clothes off the hangers.

"Oh when I turned 13 I completely redecorated my room it was great!" Briana says as I gasp excitedly.

"You're a genius. We can do that next." I say as Briana and I give each other a high five.

"Alright I finished sorting your jackets from leather to jean jackets. What can I do next?" Briana asks me as I look inside my closet.

"I have some shoe boxes up there. You can look through them." I say as she grabs a chair and reaches to the top shelf.

"Careful." I say to her but I spoke to soon when I see Briana accidently drop most of the boxes.

"Sorry." She says as she comes down the chair and helps me pick up the boxes. While she begins picking the boxes up I grab a box and see it was the box where I kept all the letters Adriana had sent me. "What's that?" Briana asks as I shake my head.

"It's nothing." I say as I quickly put all the letters in the box. I stand up fast that I accidently drop the box again and the letters scatter all over the floor.

"Letters from Adriana?" Briana says picking up a few letter and handing it to me. "I can't believe you kept these." She says as I shake my head.

"Is forgot I had these. I thought I threw them all out. I'll be back." I say to Briana as walk towards the door but I stop and quickly put the box under my bed before Briana could see me.
